However, the pipe off the new pump fit the old Sealey extractor, so that's what I did

How loud is that going to be?I need to do something to increase the volume of mine. Muffler deletes seems quite popular but they also sound a bi obnoxious on the YT vids which have so far formed my research. I’m tempted by the Performance exhaust mod (get the back boxes opened up and replace the two outer perforated pipes with solid ones).
I had the pleasure of the starter motor on my other half’s 125i. What an absolute st of a job. It’s not finished yet because of one vacuum line / squeeze connector that it as absolute bd to get to….
This little sucker at the front of the inlet manifold is a nightmare. I’m off to pick up sone better bent nose pliers to try and get in the very small gap. I thought I’d try and get the manifold off so I can actually see what I’m doing. The bodge way of just loosening it and wriggling it as far out of the way as possible seemed more hassle than it’s worth….until now!
If I can’t get this loose, I’ll have to revert back to that option.

It lets you know there's something more interesting under the bonnet; but it's not in your face/ASBO loud etc
When you're on the throttle it lets out a superb V8 sound; but when driving normally and cruising at speed it's very subtle

Manifold off is how I did it. I just snapped those lines off and replaced with new. This little sucker at the front of the inlet manifold is a nightmare. N53 seems to benefit from a bit of a thrashing too.

Funny you should say that…..I bought some long bent nose pliers which got that from one removed within a few minutes. Wicked in though….
The vent hose was ever so slightly in the way when accessing the rear bolt so I tried to give myself a tiny bit more room and the fker snapped. It’s unbelievably brittle on this car, more so than on my 130i.
That stopped play for the day as I’m waiting on the new part to arrive….surprisingly cheap at £40 especially when there are jokers on eBay trying to sell it for £90!
I then spent the rest of the morning cleaning what I could and dressing all of the plastics removed.

Ideally I’d do the lot but I think the valve cover needs replacing. Given that it needs a new cover plus gaskets and I’ve just spunked a load of money on parts for the 335i it’ll have to wait a little while.
I’m tempted to do the oil cooler and filter housing gasket ps whilst the engine is in bits. I have the gaskets and bolts in a box in the garage.
