Yes, seems to be a return to form for BMW. However, I want a convertible (because I'm a tart), so it's either M3 or M4.
Nothing wrong with a convertible for me. I had a test drive in a M4 convertible back in 2016 and I really enjoyed driving it roof down for sure. My brother in law also has a E93 convertible and I've had a few goes in that and the V8 sounds absolutely lovely with the roof down.
E93 M3’s are cheap, a shed load cheaper than either the coupe or saloon.
Absolutely belted down with rain today while out on the motorway, amazing just how solid on the road the X6 feels compared to the Tiguan it replaced.
Auto wipers are a bit crappy though!
Also ordered new front tyres and alignment which should make it even better as I’m sure it’s pulling to the right a bit at the moment.

Agreed a deal to get rid of the 140 and move into a 130i. An opportunity to save sone cash on cars (not using them much) but still own something fun with a great engine.
Good luck with the incoming motor bud. I’ve enjoyed the 140i, a lot but it’s never quite got under my skin. I think I probably regret not putting my big boy pants on and buying an E9x M3. That’s what I really want but I compromised. Hopefully in 12/18 months time, M car values will be a bit more sensible (especially with the new ones hitting the market).
Changed the pollen filter on the X5 at the weekend and noticed that the plastic engine partition was broken.
Not my photos but illustrates the issue.
All 3 bits broken as well as the parts that attach to the engine bay bilaterally.
NOT cheap from BMW.
£111 each side
£70 centre part
£15 for each engine bay attachment.
Was going to get the cheapo Chinese copy kit from eBay (about £50 for the three bits, not the engine bay attachments) but from my research, apparently the design of the centre section was changed by BMW later in the design life to improve draining as well as the formulation of the plastic composite to make it more heat resistant. I think the BMW item also has metal mounting points for the bolts and I don't want any issues with fit etc.
Ordered the parts from Cotswold BMW, with a discount.

The one close by was nice, but it’s an N53 and there is nothing in the history re the HPFP or NOX sensor so I gave it a miss. I’m no expert but I feel comfortable with the N52 and this one isn’t leaking.
I did look at E9x 30i’s but good ones seem hard to come by. A well spec’d E91 would be been amazing but the ones in budget were poverty spec. The E92 seems to be going through a bad patch and has fallen into the wrong hands; tatty and/or interesting MOT histories.

If the OH doesn't like them, then game over! The one close by was nice, but it’s an N53 and there is nothing in the history re the HPFP or NOX sensor so I gave it a miss. I’m no expert but I feel comfortable with the N52 and this one isn’t leaking.
