I should add my gratitude to you for putting some decent pics on that advert for me to ponder over, so thanks
Weirdly the style 5s look bigger than the 17"s on the M5 to me. Strange optical illusion.
You're welcome! I agree, however, the staggered 18" style 5's from the e31 would make me think twice before fitting them to an e34, plus they are £xxxx..the other e34 in my ad pic was running 18"s (of a different style) for comparison.Weirdly the style 5s look bigger than the 17"s on the M5 to me. Strange optical illusion.
I'm wondering whether to fit a set of 17" style 5's to my e28..there are some tempting pics out there..

They would suit it quite well, I think Did you keep them when you sold the E34? Since the advert has gone I can't see the price, but style 5s seem to be worth selling separately to the car these days.
Electrical gremlin fix suggestions from the E34 corner!
Happens more often on a damp wet day, the wipers stutter rather than sweep back and forth, the electric windows, sunroof, heated rear screen and A/C stop working. Damp, bad earth, any suggestions as why all these electrics are effected together?
Appreciate your help.

Stripped out the fuse box, cleaned everything and put it back together. Hey all the crazy electrical behaviour has stopped, more luck than judgment!Happens more often on a damp wet day, the wipers stutter rather than sweep back and forth, the electric windows, sunroof, heated rear screen and A/C stop working. Update.
Brought some excellent rear door cards, upgrade Alpine speakers to replace the poor factory Nokia units, sourced a compatable 10 shuttle for the origional SONY head unit, sourced a boot liner and a new microfilter, which is a pig of a job to change hence I am sure it's the origional one from the factory, the blower even on full is pretty feeble. The fan only works on full, supposidly I need to replace the 'sword' under the dash.
Getting 28 mpg on the motorway, which is pretty good for an old school big six, still comfortable, smooth and quiet, suprisigly little wind noise.

I've done a few of the filters - take your time, get something padded to kneel on and when you've got the old filter out, stick a vacuum cleaner in there! I pulled handfuls of leaves and stuff out of mine together with the now totally black filter. Amazing difference with a new filter.
The fan speeds may not be the sword. Mine was the rotary switch on the control unit. All the contacts were rusted - new switch, job done

Apologies if you've removed this for the photo - but shouldn't there be a plate between the nut and the top mount:

A bit more love and attention
Replaced the top mounts ago and put the correct retainers on top sourced from Germany. I have also replace the entire clutch assembly, pressure place, clutch and release bearing. Whilst the propshaft was out I tool the liberty of replacing the rubber 'donut' which has seen better days. Next, from cold reset the valve clearances. Fixed the fan speed issue with a new 'hedgehog' resistor. Oh and a fresh MOT, which it passed need nothing as I would expect.
