Washed mine for the first time since winter yesterday. Applied some Megs hybrid ceramic liquid wax I bought last year afyer I'd been over it with my DA - but haven't had chance to use yet. Thankfully the Collinite 915 I'd waxed it with last year was still beading very nicely anyway.

cool

I'd reckon prices for stuff like this will remain firm given current goings on. Not that anyone can really sell or buy, but the market for older cheaper cars tends to be the least affected by economic troubles. Either way, mine's not being sold any time soon.
I think you're right.

Also, running an older car that you own outright, now seems a much better prospect than throwing £300+ a month on leasing a new car that you can't drive anywhere for weeks. I think it would take a very expensive repair bill to make us part with ours any time soon.

That they are. They're the 'darkline' retrofit rear lights. They're in the accessories brochure I have, but no word on pricing I'm afraid. They're available on eBay though. smile

I agree. It's more beneficial to me that there's less miles going on it too. I think I've not done almost 5,000 miles now since we've been locked down.

That they are. Got mine from a German OEM reseller years ago on ebay. Biggest improvement to the looks imo.

I still love mine, and the odd time I've been out in the last few weeks has reminded me just how much. However, it'll be 8 years of owning it this November and I'd like a change. It's time for a V8. If I had the space it would be staying permanently I think.

I've got a question, but first apologies for being clean-shaven, and apologies if it's been asked before, I admit I haven't checked through the whole thread!

I like the saloons generally, but I don't like the strange chrome "nostrils" above the grille. I've noticed the coupes don't have these, but have a much tidier (to my eyes, anyway) detail where the bonnet line curves over the top of the grille. For ages I thought this detail was coupes only, but now I'm sure I've seen a couple of saloons like this.

So my question is, to get a "no-nostrils" saloon, what should I be looking for? Is it a trim level? Or a different model? Or what?

Facelift lost the under-nose 'tache. So it becomes a question of whether you want the (better) hydraulic PAS and (arguably better) N52 engine of the pre-facelift models, or are willing to sacrifice those for looks. Facelift also gets you a wider rear track (12mm each side), which definitely also looks a lot better.

I've always wanted some dark chrome ones for mine, but never seen anything other than black/carbon or body-coloured.

I'm interested. Was thinking of getting back into E91 ownership this autumn when my mileage is due to decrease but could maybe bring that forward, subject to social distancing etc.

Sounds like you're ready to get yourself a more grown up car. And clearly the perfect car for you would be the e61 which is the natural choice and big brother of the e91. It's also available in a v8 if you're willing to look long and hard.

I want my E91 back weeping

Part exchanged it for £4K for my 430d which ended up going within a year due to a house purchase. Ended up with a 1.2 polo instead of my 325d mint condition LCI touring.

So effectively I traded my estate for a polo and also lost £3k!

Worst mistake ever.

Here is my E91 LCI 325d M Sport Auto. Heated Leather, Professional Navigation, Adaptive Xenons are among the optional extras!

Wheels are Borbets and were already on when I purchased the car, I was unsure on them but have grown to like them!

Looking at getting the autobox serviced in the near future, then potentially an engine and gearbox map!

Sadly I need to keep it until after we've had a load of building/renovation work done - which we were probably only a month away from starting when CV19 kicked off!

Can see me still having it this time next year. It's no bad thing though really I guess.

My E91 325i and current E90 330i were both pre-facelifts because I wanted the N52 engine!

And being sparkling Graphite I like the chrome trim, but I can see why other colours might suit black trim better.

If you have an early one you can get the same effect with the track by fitting other wheels - I had F30 wheels on my 325i.

I had 15mm spacers. Never fitted them. For two years. Then gave them to my BiL for his E61 530i laugh

I think Le Mans Blue is perhaps the worst for the pre-LCI nose tache as it looks cack in chrome and cack in black frown

Silver 'just about' gets away with it because it's all a big sea of silver at the front of the car. The downside to that is owning a silver car. hehe
