I've only had my car a month today but Leasys were very accommodating and happy to move my DD from middle to end of month.
Without prompting they also came back and asked if I wanted to alter my initial payment date but thought best to get this out of the way rather than delay further.
Good to know, thank you.

Just had the second invoice for the next month in advance too.

We noticed yesterday we are getting warm air blowing up between the drivers seat and centre console, even when it's set to a low temp.

Anyone else had this?

Yes, happens occasionally, then after about 5 seconds changes back to the desired temp.

Do you mind me asking which dealership did the android auto FOC mate? Will help me complain to Liverpool BMW who are trying to charge me 160. Cheers!
I had mine updated this week at the dealer. I said that my reverse camera was intermittent, which is an actual issue and there is a service information bulletin from BMW, which applies to G16 8 series Gran Coupes where to fix is to update software. It is a north american doc mind, not sure if it makes a difference:

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10174318...

A bit cheeky i know, but really needed android auto as I have a you tube music sub and prefer google maps having come from an Audi

Apparently the 07/2020.35 update will be released OTA sometime in Autumn

BMW North Oxford, I believe nobody will do FOC, you have to complain about something and then they will do. Voice control issues got them to do it

thanks

Been a while since I've posted. I just get this feeling there's something not right with the way my car drives, i've booked it in with BMW to give it a once over. So atm i'm getting:

1) Traction issues, even when driving the car in eco pro mode. I can physically hear the tyre's searching for grip
2) Tracking's off on the car, veer's to the right. But that's a minor issue and nothing a dealer shouldn't be able to fix
3) I get a clunking sort of noise when driving the car off my drive, hard to describe, but sounds like some sort of transmission or drivetrain noise

Again not sure if i'm being anal or is anyone else getting these issues?

I'm coming from a RWD 430D so i'm used to RWD cars.

I had number 3 right from delivery but it progressively got worse. The car went in two weeks ago, after a couples of days diagnosing the problem bmw couldn't reproduce the noise. So I went in to dealership and reversed as I would out of my drive. The engineer couldnt hear the clunking but could see the rear passenger wheel vibrate. They tried software updates and oil changes (transmission i think?) initially. Then BMW UK was contacted by the dealer who advised changing the differential or just a part of it(not sure as I was too busy driving the m4 comp courtesy car lol). I've literally picked the car up this morning. Seems fine so far. Will report back...

I don’t have any specific knowledge of this model of car (I haven’t picked mine up yet) but certainly on other cars those symptoms would all point to a diff issue.

TBH now that i think about it, i've had it since delivery as well. Just ignored it tbh. Out of curiosity what dealership did you take it to? And did you have to fight for the M4 Comp courtesy car? Knowing my luck they'll probably try sticking me in a 1 series lol.

I must admit I don't even know what size tyres are on the car...

Usual places for tyres online - Camskill, Black Circles, mytyres, Oponeo etc.

Thanks, ours seems permanent.

Still, winters coming. Not sure I can be bothered to book it in just for that.

Anyone waiting for a software update tried this?

https://discover.bmw.co.uk/technology/software-upd...

Not sure how quickly or regularly the updates are listed but might be worth checking.

It used to be the Bluetooth module and on my i8 it didn’t work even though it offered a download. Not tried it on the 840

Try checking what the controls to the rear passengers are set at. My kids play with them in the back and when they increase the temp I feel warm air coming up from near the armrest.

Hi both,

I reported the same issue (number 3) a while back but seemed to be the only one so didn't make a big deal here.

Car received March 9, had the issue since delivery only managed to take in post covid around June initially. BMW Tech diagnosed as rear differential, they changed diff oil initially didn't work, then motor that powers/controls the differential speed I was told. Fixed 95% of the issue temporarily, returned within a few weeks.

My car is back with them now, likely for a full rear differential replacement, I know another owner whose car was deemed faulty and replaced (US based), seems to be a recall worthy 8 series fault to be honest. I complained about the courtesy car and now driving a 840d xdrive coupe whilst they investigate...

The cynic in me feels we may have discovered why BMW were willing to let this batch go out cheap!

When you talk about the clunking, is it when going forwards and backwards or just one or the other? Not noticed anything myself but want to keep an ear out.
Aside from the replacement battery I have had no other issues from trim or noises or anything. Just need android auto sorting so i dont have to look at these terrible maps (aka Tom Tom 2005) any longer.
Finally undertaken a lengthy drive from Liverpool to Fleetwood and the car was brilliant. Quiet, comfortable and reasonable mpg on a cruise and the HUD has very good functionality for navigation.

Not at all. They were trying to put me in an 8 but that needed a service so they gave me an M4 instead. The courtesy car wasn't provided by dealership but a company who are contracted to provide a like for like replacement.
