840i M Sport Lease Deal
Discussion
FYI - Leasys want £900 a month to extend the lease formally, but happy to extend informally at my current £325p/m for up to 6 months at the end of term.
There’s also the option to buy at end of term (quotation done at the time)
I know I’m early, but was enquiring about another car initially so thought I’d check the 8 series at the same time.

Blimey, it does show just how good the original deal is...There’s also the option to buy at end of term (quotation done at the time)

Same here and I think it may be due to hardwired dashcam and lack of long runs out meaning battery charge level is never high enough.
Not hugely bothered since I use an iPhone anyway.
The update enables Apple CarPlay as well so probably worth it as an iPhone user as much as an Android user (I'm pretty sure CarPlay wasn't on it until the update?).Not hugely bothered since I use an iPhone anyway.
Have to say it's a lovely way to schlepp about, have learned to avoid the b-pillar instinctively when getting in now. Still very pleased with it and will probably take up an informal extension at the end if they're happy to roll it on another 6 months. It'll depend on what else is out there at the time but I'm really not sure what else would tick so many boxes for the money!
Does look great after a clean too:
Bloody hell £325 a month! mega that

Just on this note - I reckon you'd have to be mental to buy one of these at the end of the lease; it won't have finished its' stone-like depreciation plummet and I wouldn't want to run one without a warranty, that's for sure - it's a £70k car and I've no doubt it wouldn't hesitate to rummage through your pockets in the event repairs are needed! There’s also the option to buy at end of term (quotation done at the time)

Anyone else getting a rear indicator failure warning? I am, although it is still working (blinking at a faster rate than normal).
I think I've that once but it seemed to be a one-off as it disappeared and never came back again. All the lights work fineS8QUATTRO said:
They look a lot of car for that lease amount.
Have any of you gone into a 840d from a 640d?
Do they drive that much different?
I know they are mid £40's now.... hopefully a £20k car in 3 years
I'm in an 840d. I did look at getting a used 640d a few years ago, but back then decided I preferred a newer M135i for the same money. Have any of you gone into a 840d from a 640d?

The 8 is actually slightly shorter than the 6 was, and the interior is significantly more plush and upmarket. You've also got the benefit of the XDrive and rear steer so they handle much better than before.
Regarding prices I think you'd be doing well to see £20k in 3-years time. Next year when the earliest examples turn 3 they'll have a PCP GFV value of ~£36k which is probably what they'll fetch in the trade, so will likely retail for £40k. I doubt they'll drop a further £20k during the subsequent couple of years.
If we get a no-deal brexit the cars that are currently mid £40s will likely jump up a bit, as the brand new ones will get so much more expensive meaning higher demand for late approved used examples and therefore a rise in used prices.
Could've done with the 4-wheel steering today - really tight exit to a car park and had no chance of not touching one of the kerbs; clipped the o/s front and brushed the n/s rear, fortunately only damage to the front one (except I'll see it every time I get in, dammi!t). I didn't have any choice other than to attempt it as slowly as possible and didn't feel it until it was already too late.
There's not even any space to allow you to try and swing wide. Won't be parking there again!
Edit: just measured the width on Google Maps an it's 2.2m wide and 5.5m long - with the requirement to turn in a 5m-long and 1.93m wide car....no chance!

If its possible to extend for 6 months at same price im almost certain to go for that. Chances of a deal like this coming again are almost nil so I will cling to it as long as I can! Plus, they don't want 40 ish back all at the same time anyway. There’s also the option to buy at end of term (quotation done at the time)

Any of the others out at all? Not had it on the 840i but the left rear on the m2 failed intermittently causing the others on the left to flash faster. Common problem on that car and had the whole left rear cluster replaced under warranty.
Only seemed to do it when it was a wet day or moisture in the morning air (not good this time of year!).

Is anyone else experiencing the following:
As soon as I turn the fan on to remove the condensation from the windscreen the whole thing gets even worse and I can’t see a thing. Then after a few seconds the fan clears all the condensation. I’m sorry but it’s so unsafe. Many a time I’ve been driving and suddenly I can’t see a thing. I know this happens in all cars but this is the worst I’ve ever seen it.
Secondly, one of my exhausts has been giving out abnormal amounts of smoke since I got the car.
Anyone experienced these issues?
Yeah its really annoying and ive never had this issue in any other car. Weird!
