They are, more so the premium ones
I went for the Goodyear Assym 6s as they were £250 cheaper than the Michelin PS5s!
It’s the mid-range stuff that seems the worst; the jump up to Good Years etc isn’t that big these days. I went for the Goodyear Assym 6s as they were £250 cheaper than the Michelin PS5s!
I paid £630 for a full set of Asymmetric 5’s last year via Asda. They want £450 just for the rears this year.

That is a big uplift as you say Sam.I've just been pricing up the fronts on the Merc, and Asda are coming out well, still expensive...but definitely very competitive against the rest of the market though.

Blackcircles IMO are always a rip off and never competitive in my experience

I will have a look on Tyresonthedrive now, because I've never tried them thanks.
Ok so yesterday not today, but it was the first run out for the Alpina B12 5.7 after a winter hibernation from the cold and salt. My daughter sat in the back and at my request methodically checked that all the toys still worked - seats, windows, armrest of joy, dvd and screen, fridge, window blinds etc, etc.
It all still worked and the car drives beautifully so on returning it was washed, polished and waxed and popped back in the garage again.

I've had 2 new rear Michelin PS4S put on the Merc today...£510 each!
To add insult to injury the rear Contis that I put on it back in January only lasted 3 months/6k miles(they were £330 each in comparison). So I'm hoping that the PS4S last a bit longer than they have for sure.
I'm going off premium tyres fast now!
Jeez that’s some wear; was it uneven wear from poor alignment or proper, even wear?To add insult to injury the rear Contis that I put on it back in January only lasted 3 months/6k miles(they were £330 each in comparison). So I'm hoping that the PS4S last a bit longer than they have for sure.

Maybe a bit OT but who has pursued upgrading a base audio system for their BMW? Most topics are US centric and they didn’t get the base audio system we did.
I don’t wish I waited for harman/kardon as I bought on condition but the speakers are horrid. To make it worse one of them is now blown and makes a horrible crackling noise which is very irritating
Currently got no amp or tweeters, 3 working midranges and 1 blown one, and 2 5” subs
I have never upgraded car audio but spent a few months researching now and narrowed it down to this as my upgrade, but can’t justify the cost yet due to other things going on! But seems this is the best bang for the buck
Amplifier: Audiotec-Fischer MATCH-UP7DSP BMW Amplifier with digital sound processor (set DSP to Match recommended settings)
Front speakers: Audiotec-Fischer Match BMW front component system midranges and tweeters
Rear speakers: Second hand Harman Kardon rear coax speakers - or Focal/Audison p’n’p speakers
Subwoofers: Earthquake Audio SWS-8XI 8” underseat subs
Tweeter trims: OEM BMW Hi-Fi unbranded trims
Audio setup: BMW HiFi through Bimmercode (flat response)
My plan is to have the 7 channel Match amp powering all speakers although to save money could possibly downgrade to a 4/5 channel amp and leave the rears unamped
No plans to install a centre speaker, rear tweeters or a parcel shelf system although it is all there if I wanted to
Would be interested to see if anyone else has installed plug and play solutions to their BMW. I wouldn’t say I’m an audiophile but I have definitely got a keen ear and find the base audio horrible (I swear my old VW Polo was better)

It is a heavy car with really wide rear tyres granted, however the Pirellis that were on it from new lasted 20.5k miles in comparison though.

I will keep searching around, however my missus is going absolutely nuts/getting frustrated with me because I've recently become so tyre obsessed!

Totally even/proper wear which is even more frustrating to be honest in some ways Sam. The car recently had the alignment done as well. You could literally smell the rubber burning off them after long runs, and I've never experienced that with any tyre I've had over the years to be fair.

Frustrating is putting it politely! That’s poor. Tempted to try the Pirelli’s again? It is a heavy car with really wide rear tyres granted, however the Pirellis that were on it from new lasted 20.5k miles in comparison though.
Cleaned my car to remove the mud etc from Prescott yesterday; I’ve picked up a few war wounds from yesterday from stones etc being flocked up.
Car looked grand again after a quick wash. The beading / ease of drying with the Fusso coat is very impressive.
I’ve also got the car booked in at P Torque for a stage one map and the gearbox to be mapped as well. It’ll be set up on the dyno, so I’m happy going down this route rather than MHD.

I agree on the cost of tyres. It seems significantly more than a few years ago. I paid £535 for a full set of Pilot sport 4s in 2016 when they launched.
I jumped on the ones on blackcircles this morning as 255/35/18 seems to be an awkward size, and Michelins are rare to come by.
When they wear out so soon it’s galling too, I usually get good mileage out of tyres though, and Michelins seem to last well.

That is frustrating/annoying Sam for definite. By the way I thought that your car sounded awesome in the video that you put up for sure!

That was what pushed me towards the Michelins as you say Jake. They are wearing really well on the 370(although it barely moves out of the garage to be fair!). Plus I've been really impressed with the way they are wearing on the M4 too.
