It takes about 30 minutes to remove the bell housing bolts and pull the gearbox off, allowing the engine to be lifted straight up and out. Taking the front panel off takes rather longer. Bumper, headlights, condenser, radiator, front panel, half the car in bits and bits of car everywhere.Rusty 8mm headlight bolts can take 30 minutes alone. It's the equivalent of trying to decorate a hallway through your letterbox.

There's an easy and a hard way to do any job however, I prefer the former!

If I had the space and lift/ramp, I would rebuild too. It will be a great learning experience on a car you like with the opportunity to really go through it and tweak as required.

Thanks for this - I think I saw one of the first videos here a bunch of guys knocked a hole in the gearbox and then I wrote the channel off as being useless in terms of good information. Seems I was wrong!
