I have an E36 compact in Club Sport trim that has M3 badges on the side (you can just see them in the picture on my profile), and it really does seem that it rolled out of the factory like that. I'm seriously considering replacing them, if I can, with plain old ///M badges.

While there is a certain amount of M in the car, it's certainly not an M3!

There is no such thing as club sport trim on a 318ti.

It might be an M Sport model - which would have had a M on the side moldings from the factory but not an M3. If its got M3 on the side badges then they have been replaced.

Well, club sport, whatever you call it. It's got an M front spoiler, skirts and a posh steering wheel and gearknob.

And rassen frassen farking M3 badges on the side. I'll be replacing those, I think. What would be the best way of removing them?

I can understand that anyone cares if a badge is on their car; but to bother which badge it is, I cannot understand. The engine and the spec are for me and not for other road users

Only way to be sure would be to replace both doors

Blimey, that seems a bit extreme - almost on a par with "Take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure"...

The M3 bits are on rectangles which will lever out and then you can replace them. Try not to damage the surrounding trim on door.
