LOL! Can you name a single convertible that has less overall drag (CdA) than an equivalent coupe? There's a reason they built the Shelby 289 Daytona, the GT6-bodied Spitfires that they ran at Le Mans, etc.

My 340bhp@5700rpm B10 V8 is geared for 173mph@5700rpm in 5th

I've had it to 5600rpm and don't doubt it would have got to 5700rpm given space...
