840i M Sport Lease Deal
Discussion
Interesting... I’ve checked my Leasys contract and it 37.02 ppp inc vat which equals 30.85ppm net of vat .... I recall quirying this with carsave and I have it in writing the 26ppm was correct but I’m now thinking thats neither here nor there as the signed agreement is the legal agreement but I’ll query it with Leasys nonetheless .... worse case I’m now going to be paying £370 per 1000 miles extra over agreement instead of £310.....I’m still happy enough to do that assuming I’m no more than a few k above contract
Mine is also £0.4096 inc. VAT per mile, but the app also displays a different mileage. I received a letter dated 8th March, which I assume was a 'half-way through the contract' letter, stating that the excess mileage charge is 32.00 pence per mile. The letter doesn't state if it's Ex.VAT or not. I've just checked the app and it's showing 32p.
So, having always so far managed to avoid roof racks etc., the “practicality” of the 8 series has been exhausted...
Previous 335d Touring and S4 Avant made transporting a bike easy. With the 8 series, I can transport one bike by taking the saddle and the front wheel off. Bit of a pain in the arse but not the end of the world.
No 2 son is now getting into cycling and I can’t transport two bikes and two boys to the track. I think a roofrack would be the best bet - I don’t want to shell out on a towbar for a lease car and worry one of those bootlid carrier things might damage the paintwork. I don’t really want the BMW main dealer one as it’ll be useless when the car goes back, so would prefer to go Thule or similar.
No roofrack websites I’ve tried seem to have heard of a G16/8 series, however! Just wondering if anyone might have been down this road already...?

The 8GC boot lid is made from plastic so can’t take a bike carrier, even if you wanted to. I wanted to carry bikes too, but I just use a Saris Bones carrier on my other car.A reasonable roof rack option for the 8 would be good.
Incidentally my excess miles are 26p plus VAT even though G2L said it was 41p. I have had the discussion with Leasys and confirmed.
