Stuck the 340i in for an MOT today and the garage has called to say it's failed on both rear side lights not working. Nothing displaying on dash, couldn't tell you when I last checked in all honesty. Fuse?

They are LEDs and run across both parts of the rear lights. Id be surprised if all the units would have all failed as they aren't wired in series.

Thanks - I've just had a text to say it's now passed. I wonder if they forgot to take it off automatic lights...

Did you remove the accelerator to make life easier?

The brake pedal is an absolute st to do and the tiny bolts are a proper pain in the arse.

Accelerator was easy pal. 2 small screws and it has 3M tape on the back. So marked the holes, drilled. Stuck down and screwed the screws in and done

But the brake was an absolute pisser... Couldn't for the life of me get to that bottom right bolt at the back. Fingers just too fat and bolt too fecking small laugh

Going to check it all again tomorrow as I haven't tightened them down fully

They do look well though biggrin

Cleaned out my headlamp crevices.

Before / After:

Also this highlighted that even though the lenses look clear, they are not and are littered with micro craters from stones and dust from over the years. I last replaced the lenses in 2016:

Jealous of your removable headlight lenses - it really freshens up the front having properly clear lenses.

Later models have those hideous "permaseal" lenses that basically can't be removed without near on destroying the headlight. Yet another example of today's hideous throwaway attitude, why replace a simple weathered or otherwise damaged lens when you can replace the whole unit, electronics and all, for an eyewatering price banghead

I feel for you frown guessing it was one of those narrow tight-radius spiral roadways between floors? They are getting increasingly challenging with the width of today's cars, leaving very little margin for error.

Replacement exhaust tailpipe trims fitted

The OEM chrome tailpipes were corroded/pitted etc and no amount of polishing will restore them

Link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Exhaust-Tailpipes-Stainle...

Bit of WD40 and the OEM ones slide off & the new ones slide on (with the aid of a rubber mallet) biggrin

Well, I saw the word "exhaust", looked at this picture and thought "I've never seen a fluffy muffler like that before".

I'm not coping very well with the heat.

As for me, it's not so much what *I* did to my BMW, as what about a million flies did to it on my way to Scotland, which was basically headbutt it.

Still got to drive home, then no chance it'll be getting washed before I'm back up and home again. By Tuesday, I think the bumper will actually be black.

Haha said cat tree is in the garage due to Fin, our 9month old kitten fracturing his front left leg... He's ok now but need to encourage him to not do more cat parkour in the house, so the cat tree has become a dumping ground in the garage suddenly biggrin

Bluddy'ell biggrin

My Dad's white X3M looks like that currently; they were up in Dunkeld last week and he went over to Lake of Menteith to fish and the front of it is a bug graveyard! laugh

The brake pedal is an absolute sod to do; it least it’s an auto so there’s no clutch pedals to battle with as well!

Exhaust tips look grand, they make a big difference.

Yup; don't want to do it again... I went to tighten them yesterday and that bottom bolt dropped off mad Bloody lucky that I held my breath and tried again, caught the threads first time, so used my cordless screwdriver with a T15 torx bit to tighten them down ASAP and not rely on my finger strength laugh

Yup; I like the exhaust trim; clean & subtle cool
