I could buy it in the copart auction. But I need a car and will be collecting a new one next weekend.My knowledge of BMW specialists is very limited and I don't want the hassle of getting it repaired. I wasn't emotionally attached to the car as had owned it for such a short time.
Hopefully whoever does get it will get in touch for the history files I have, those I will keep just in case. Seems a shame for the car to be put on the road again without the history it has.

So this came up tonight when I went over a small pothole. Any ideas what it could be? A quick google search says it could be a sensor? I’ve not got a scanner to check. Tyre pressure light did flick up. But it wasn’t alternating between that and the ABS light.
I think that's likely to be the ABS reluctor ring. There's a workaround for that, AAUI.88LG said:

I tried a quick google on a workaround and no bloody luck! Just lots of results asking about them.
Going to take it to my Indy tomorrow I think to get it diagnosed. Drop my kids off at my mums for an hour.

AIUI (see what I did there ) the workaround involves just putting some washers in as spacers. From what I have read on the Facebook e9* groups, this seems to work well in many cases and costs beans.I tried a quick google on a workaround and no bloody luck! Just lots of results asking about them.

You may get a fault code before they fail, I have seen one last around 200k though. How was it on track? Do the standard brakes hold up to it?

No reluctor ring issues on the large engine models. They use the wheel bearing as a pickup instead of a reluctor ring on the driveshaft.skullandbiscuits said:

As Helix says, there's a code for speed deviation which is usually an indicator the pump is having a bad time. Some people also say if the fan runs at max speed on a cold start too it's a sign the water pimp is on the way out. Douglas Park are selling https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254821051969 for £120.I’ve messaged them for suitability for part number 61217604822.
Looking at the Yuaza site,their YBX3019 and YBX5019 may also be compatible.I queried this with my indy earlier and he was none comittal-mainly due to the difference in Ah rating (oe is 90Ah,Yuaza is 95 and 100Ah respectively).

I had something a bit similar (discussed some time ago in this thread) and someone recommended a Creator C310+ scanner (~£50) which will read the manufacturer-specific codes. (The basic scanners will only read generic engine codes.)Turned out to be an ABS sensor which I changed, and all warnings cleared.

It was alright actually, it was probably the least focused thing I've tracked but it didn't embarrass itself. Brakes held up ok, it was more the tyres that were peeling their own face off.It's funny as it feels pretty nimble and lithe on the road, but on track it felt really nose heavy with way too much understeer dialled in. I'd imagine tweaking anti-roll bars would bring the rear into play a bit more and make it more neutral.
