Can't wait for this lockdown to end. The dealers putting a new MOT on the car when possible and delivering it to me sight unseen!

But WTF is the towel rail doing on the front bumper here? https://www.handh.co.uk/auction/lot/125-1990-BMW-3... Hope you didn't pay too much more than £5,400!

Some bought it for £5400, gave it a full detail, took that coffin dodger's AA badge bar off the front, maybe did some other work too, and you think they'll have done that for free? That's not exactly how business works.BFleming said:

Fair point. I expect something like £6995. Still too much in my opinion, but if someone is willing to pay it, then that's what it's worth.
You're out, but I won't post anything in case I offend the poster. Smashing car regardless, would love one again. I had a red one too.
I’m not at all offended by speculation as to what I’m paying, the car did sell at auction for £5400 and since then it’s had quite extensive refurbishment.
I’m paying £8,000. I’ve owned several E30’s over the years and looked on as prices have crept ever upwards, if you want a good one now they ain’t cheap any longer. Perhaps Covid will dampen prices and I’ll have overpaid but if this car is as good as I hope it will be a keeper.
I’m already planning a few subtle mods!
I’ve wanted to get back to a more simple car for a while having had two E46 M3’s, highly enjoyable though they were I found them to be somewhat too quick to readily enjoy on our overcrowded, speed camera infested crater strewn roads.
Looking forward to big fun when it arrives!

I'm sure you are, a lovely looking motor, some of my fondest car drives are taking it easy in summer with the windows open in a E30! I’m paying £8,000. Are you upgrading to a dual towel rail? Get the missuses on there too.

Given what 325i fetch nowadays and how nice 318is are to drive I'd say it's worth every penny. One of the reasons I sold my own E46 M3 was that the performance just couldn't easily and safely be exploited on the roads down here. 3 figure speeds were effortless and the potential for a big off was just more than I was comfortable with. A 318is with an LSD is just way more fun and exploitable to me. Much like my 02 in many ways.I’m paying £8,000. Nice 02!![](https://thumbsnap.com/sc/ef2T7mxM.jpg)
Agree re the M3, I regularly found myself over the ton on motorway slip roads, God knows what these cars with 500bhp plus must be like.
"Down here"? I'm Portsmouth way.
I've had quite a few E30's and actually prefer the 318is to the six cylinder cars for driving fun.
Then again I don't claim to be that talented a driver.
so after the 318 that SR is having, i had a nosey and this is just round the corner form me.

I really liked the M42 over the M20 myself. The 02 has an M44 on ITB's now.
