I'm hankering after an R5 GT Turbo. The first car I ever had which I really really loved. I genuinely could not sleep the night before I got it and then the night I got it too. So I kept getting out of bed and going out for drives. I dont know if I will ever be as excited to get a car ever again. If only I could be young again.

Thanks chaps - will be a fun, little project!

When are you going to let us know what the plan is then, HR?

That's ace, I used to hanker after a 1.3 Rallye. When I could afford one they were a bit long in the tooth to use daily so got a 172 Cup.

I keep fancying another for a bit of a project car.

Yeah - That's why I am committing to a full rebuild (will probably end up costing similar money to a good, low miles Rallye) so that it can be used daily, for years to come. Will still be a lot cheaper than any of these 'modern' hatches.

Have had 2 x 172s in my time so I fancied a change and something a bit smaller/ lighter. I also think they're the next best looking hatch (when lowered) after the 205 GTi!

Make a project happen, Phil!

Did you buy this car? It is still showing on the dealer website, I was going to go and look at it, maybe not then!

I had a low brake fluid warning come on, this morning.

Assume the pads must be low as I can't have a leak!?

Will check that out, later!

In other news (and not wishing to jinx myself) - the car seems to be performing well after I treated it to a hoovering!

Performing well yet warning you of low brake fluid? yikes

I'd hate to see what it does when it throws a wobbly! hehe

LOL - You know what I mean!

To be fair, I'm guessing the brake pads are low and the reservoir just needs topping up but I'll check it out properly.

Been concentrating on my little 106 and was at the rugby this weekend watching the mighty, mighty England - The best team in the NH!
