I called the ConnectedDrive hotline and they said the subscriptions were not transferable from the original owner. Clearly some people have managed to get it but i don't seem to be able to. It is frustrating paying over the odds and not even being able to try some of these new features but it's not a big deal. I am still waiting for an after sales s rice pack they said they would send me so given up on that too...

Odd, I was told specifically by the hotline that the 36 months applies to new owners if the car is sold within that period - but it turned out mine had never been activated anyway. Keep at them!

It maybe because the system has been changed in the last couple of years. IIRC, originally it could be transferred, but, Google have changed the way the Send to Car works, and with other functions changes etc BMW have had to change the Connected Drive, well, that's how it was explained to me - how true or not that is, is another matter!

fking annoying that was! However, works better as a complete package now.

On a side note, has anyone successfully used BMW routes to send an itinerary to the car?

Once. But the whole experience was so painful that when the free subscription expired, I didn't bother to renew it. I simply can't believe how crude and non-functional BMW's systems are - I'd have been ashamed to put my name to something like that in the nineties, let alone now.
