Good morning gentlemen,
I have a deposit down on an M2 with a delivery date for the end of June. But I really want to take one for a test drive before I definitely go ahead. Does anyone know where I can get one to test?
The BMW dealer I am dealing with have provided very poor service so far and no test drive. Is it possible to move my order to a different BMW franchise?
Cheers,

Not sure where you are located, dont think the dealers are allowed to run demo of the M2 due to lack of availability.
It was the lack of Demo cars that stopped me buying a new unseen 1M - although sort of regret that now when you look at values! However i wont ever buy a car i cant drive or haven't driven.
The car at Hull is up at £47995 in the nice blue colour, 532 miles on clock 66 plate.

I drove one at High Wycombe, think they had two used ones a month or so ago.
If you call around, you should be able to find someone with a free build slot sooner than June (the waiting lists are way down to non-existent now). I understand there is some issue around road tax if you miss a cut-off date for production.

Vehicle Road Fund Licence changes are for any vehicle that costs in excess of £40K as from 1st April see here https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploa...
I put down a deposit on an M2 beginning of this week and the car is due for delivery end of March and I have been guaranteed it will be registered before April 1st so it will not be liable to the new tax regime. I actually found two dealers with cars they could spec in this time scale. Happy to pm details of the other car if someone is interested.
I have a test drive tomorrow... very excited, but determined not to make any snap decisions afterwards Think my ideal spec would be manual, Long Beach Blue, sun protection pack and folding mirrors...I've been told that availability is loosening up already this year (could be dealer BS but don't think so)

Tax an interestingly one for the M2 post March bur surely not a big change for Manual cars?
Not aware the type of transmission makes a significant difference - don't the big changes from April apply to any car with a list price of over £40k? If so that would affect all derivatives of the M2...JNW1 said:

Man £500 + £270.
Much less of a hike for the Man car.
Thinking about it, a post March registered car is going to be less expensive to tax from year 6 onwards, and thus helpful for residuals?

I tried the demo car in Aberdeen back in June /July 2016 before they sold it, but at that time I wanted to try a manual car too so I called BMW UK and they told me all of the dealers who had a demo cars. I went to Bowker BMW in Preston and ordered a manual car in August, getting it earlier than expected next Monday.
I had the same feeling on customer service in Aberdeen and the Preston trip was a fun road trip so I didn't mind the effort.
This isn't helpful but both gearboxes are very good and I doubt you'd be disappointed with either of them, I chose manual in the end as I fancied a change as I currently have a DCT M3.
