Someone seems to think so:

Who ever rolling roaded it at that should be closed down for fraud.

What's going on with the bonnet in pic 1? Has he cut a hole in it?

Either way - what a vile monstrosity. Im afraid the time has come for that 328 to die.

Afraid so - looks like a scoop for his hot air induction kit. He should have taken the £500 offer and ran.

Q: Hi, can you really get 300bhp from this engine with an exhaust and inlet manifold? I didn't think you could get 17" E46 wheels. Is the bonnet scoop functional? How quick is it round the track? Cheers.

A: yes you can, with the horse power it is now,if you know the 328 upgrades, the 325i inlet manifold ,a set of m3 exhaust evo manifolds decat and uprated box will free up at least 30 to 45 bhp ,if you doubt the power bring a old skool or new style m3 standard and straight line it ,i will get to 150mph well before a stock m3 mostly due to 800kg weight shed, and yes the scoop as hideous as it may look does a very good job indeed ,regards Phil.
Genius.

How the fk can he state that the original weight was 1780kgs? That's getting on for the maximum permissible vehicle weight. It would be pretty impossible to get it down to 1020kgs without using carbon panels and other expensive stuff.

Yes, but I bet you haven't smashed all the windows out and pop rivetted the sunroof hole have you?

And everybody knows those induction kits are worth at least 138 bhp...

Sounds like I need to bring the 230-240ish bhp/tonne Saab 900 (you don't want to know the engine spec) out of hibernation to give someone a reality check.wink

Hmmm, I did notice quite a claim for 0-60, but the 1/8th mile stats were not really consistent with a sub 5 second 0-60, unless that's kmh hehe
