E46 shudders when pulling away
Discussion
Hi,
Have looked around for a diagnosis but nothing helpfull.
So i am turning to my fellow PHers for help!
The car in question is a 2002 325ci sport 95k and has the SSG gearbox.
The problem is the car shudders when pulling away in 1st gear and even 2nd at crawling speeds.
It only does this when the clutch is at its biting point, but towards the end of the biting point, when the plates are about to make complete contact, and its only noticeable when the cars been driven for over an hour.
I think the shudder is more prevalent when pulling away while turning, but once upto speed its non-existant, changes the rest of the gears without a hitch
I've had the clutch and slave cylinder replaced back in June, and its only done 4k since.
Any feedback would be very appreciated.

I think a dual mass flywheel will cause these symptoms.
I have exactly the same, it will shudder when creeping at the biting point, but once fully declutched, it's solid.
It is either a worn dual mass flywheel, or a misaligned clutch (the car is also running a new clutch, approx 1 year old, and the thrust bearing was changed - silent until you press the clutch, and it'd hum/whine)
