Handing car back to BMW without runflats
Discussion
Am I correct that if I do a voluntary termination of my PCP contract with BMW that I will need to have runflats fitted to the car? (It came with runflats but i changed them to normal tyres)
Any idea where I could get some part worn runflats please?
Fronts are 225/40/18 and rears are 255/35/18
Thanks
Craig

Assuming the tyres are legal and of the correct size and speed/load rating I'm not sure there's a problem? Not sure whether the PCP agreement goes to that level of detail but certainly worth checking before you spend money changing the existing tyres! Any idea where I could get some part worn runflats please?

Finance companies almost always lose money on VT's so I suggest that BMW FS will work to the letter of the T&C's.
Easiest thing to do is call them.
I VT'd a previous Mercedes they didn't have RFT's but I needed to ensure that it was on premium tyres.
I would be surprised if they accept your car without RFT's as they or the dealer the car will be auctioned to will need to change them to get the car back to stock.
A pain in the ass but this is one of the downsides to voluntary termination.

Dunno about dealers having to put a car back to stock. I sold my old 535d to a dealer with "normal" tyres which I know they then sold on without changing the tyres as an AUC car. Can't comment on the VT aspect though....

Just a thought - if youre going to hand it back check wewantanycar etc out first. Might be worth looking. Although BMW did offer me a good price for mine, WWAC Beat it by £300. Any idea where I could get some part worn runflats please?

Just got rid of mine on PCP 18 months into it. Barely drive anymore - 3000 miles in 9 months (1500 of which were 500 mile round trips to see family).

I have the same profile tyres on my Z4 (bridgestone RFTs) - currently toying with putting non RFT's on it.
What tyres do you currently have? I'd consider a swap if they're not ditch finders!

Hi Martin, i have Falken 453s they are good but down to About 4mm on rears an 5mm or so on fronts. Also not sure when i'm handing it back so wanted to find tires loose preferably.

Point being is that BMW FS will use that as a reason. Can't comment on the VT aspect though....
Also you can px a car without RFT's but if they (BMW) are going to remarket and sell the car it will go back on RFT's as part of the Used Approved Program. Depending on the value the car will go to auction in which case the dealer won't care.
