Hi, i am in the market for a x4 and one has been for sale for a fairly long time (well loads have - but dealers are not budging on price).
Is there a way or can someone on here find out about the service history of a car, I know BMW can do it via the key fob, however I do not own the car and the dealership seems like a small independant dealership - so im cautious.

its a 2018 G02 model

On the I drive select

"My vehicle" then select

"Service requirements" - that will tell you when the next service dates are

There should also be an option to select Service History which will bring up a display like the one above, if you click on / select any of the entries it will tell you what work was done.

The 4 digit is the dealer code, unless its 0000 / 9999 which indicates a service somewhere that can access the BMW system.

Green OK...service done at right date / time interval
Amber - service due
Red - service overdue / outside date / time intervals

your a star, how have you done this?

i dont fully understand what it says, im assuming the red boxes suggest a failure, orange a warning and green is all good?

also, it seems like the mileage has been tampered with as it somehow went backwards - unless im reading wrong?

Red means late/ well overdue. Amber means done within a month or so tolerance. Green means serviced to schedule.

Yes does look like it’s had a haircut. Although could have been mileage entered wrong. Either way it’s going to flag on the NMR when doing a hpi check, and making resale very hard. I would avoid.
Read from key so not likely to have been entered.

Hi I have same question, getting the service history from the vin.
I am looking to buy a used BmW and would like to check the services and see the dealers names from the number in the actual service history of the car.
Thanks

You can try giving BMW a ring. Some have had success getting all the service info from them over the phone but I personally didn’t. They would only tell me how many times the car visited a dealer.

Alternatively you can try and find a forum member with access to the BMW database and they’ll send you a document with all the info. I used an EBay service. Cost like £15 or something and they sent the info by email. The info matched the service booklet exactly so it was all legit.
