Went for a run this saturday with the girlfriend as it was a nice day. Decided to head down the Clyde coast as, it unfortunately turned out, half the geriatric shouldnt have a licence drivers of Glasgow.

In anycase, hooning was kept to a minimum and I mostly dawdled along with them on the country roads lapping up the scenery.

On arriving at Troon we stopped for some ice cream and I flicked through the trip computer. 41.5mpg! Its not even a diesel! It was a pleasant surprise to say the least.

Great car, great sounding engine and thats returning near enough the same ecconomy after 100k miles as my mums Z4 with the same engine, just out the box.

Well happy with the car thus far (ok only 2 weeks of ownership but its getting driven more and more often even though it was intended as a weekends only special car).

It appears to be fairly on the money comparing actual fuel put in to the car / miles travelled. On the last couple of tanks its been within 2mpg. These BMW trip computers do seem rather fickle, my fathers is accurate to within 1mpg typically on his 530d. Same technology on my girlfriends BMW Mini, both her first and second Coopers trip comps have been out by 4-6mpg.
