Can anyone shed any light on this issue?
A mate of mine has a rather nice 03 plate coupe and just rang me to find out about the running in service as he was told by an ex BMW employee that if the service had not been done or done late at 2100 miles in his case his extended warranty cover on his engine would be invalid if he were to have a major problem.
He bought the car privately with the warranty in place but wasn't told of this when he bought his extended cover at BMW.
From what he has told me the car was re sold from a BMW dealer to the guy he bought it from.
So is there any truth in this?
My own history shows that mine was done at 1800 hundred miles,so does that mean I'm in the same boat?
What about all the cars out there that have the BMW warranty cover but don't have the running in service?
As you'd expect I'm rather concerned

So i guess what your saying is i have just wasted £1050 on a warranty that is only good for toilet paper?
Why do BMW let you buy it then? they had all my car details on the screen i guess they didn't care and wanted the money, needless to say I'm gutted.

Ive just been down to BMW dealer they have told me that every car that has an approved warranty put on it has all its details checked first only then do they issue the warranty.
So what they are telling me is if the warranty company have issued a warranty it will stand regardless if the running in service has been done late.
This seems to contradict some off the info here but its welcome news all the same for us both.
