Has anyone any experience of buying an ex-management from Sytner? The cars don't (all) seem to appear on BMW AUC?

If you buy (as I did) an ex "BMW Contract" car under the BMW AUC programme, then rag the car whilst it is in the 12 month waranty period!!!

I am doing exactly that, on the basis that if BMW can take the piss out of me then I can do the same.
Dumb question perhaps...
you said:
rag the car
means...?

and why don't they appear on BMW AUC? (some do - and some are already sold rolleyes )

... they are built with option 902 ( your dealer can check if it has that option.) This means that either you can walk away ( as it might have been thrashed) or maybe take a punt on one, as option 902 means that they have the best engines, extra quality checks, best tyres, ecu's, and generally do better in both performance and mpg.
All BMWs are equal, but some are more equal than others?

It might be wise to avoid launch cars as they generally are thrashed by the likes of evo and Jezza.

so a 57 or 08 e92/e93 would be safe?

It is important to look at the V5, cars need to be registered to A N Other, via Alphadrive with the BMW HQ address. Anything else and it is probably a contract hire car, and therefore not ex management.
Thanks for that - very helpful smile

So - what questions would you ask the dealer?

  • Has this car been used as a press car
  • Has this car ever been used as a contract or hire car?
anything else?
