Very sad indeed.

Anyone remember watching his first 500 race at Suzuka where he blitzed everyone incl Doohan and Schwantz until he crashed out with 2/3 laps to go?

If you've not seen Norrick race, watch this link - it's in Japanese, but you'll see why we all liked him.

Such a shame.

Sad news. If there's any crumb of comfort to be taken, at least he died doing something he loved - riding a bike.

wow thats terrible..

remember watching a 500 moto GP on TV when he came from the back end of the grid, passed everyone and was laying darkies out of every corner with the front wheel in the air, truly spectacular..

RIP Abe.. frown

RIP Norifumi

Tragic news. They kept the information from Haga duing the Magny Cours round knowing how upset he would be.

I remember his 500 days well and being the first Japanese to win a home.

I only heard about this last night, I'm totally gutted.

My Abe replica Shoei has become an even more prized posession now.......

RIP Norifumi.
