I only ride at weekends, I ride a sports bike, I have full leathers and no textiles, I'm a DAS rider, I'm middle aged and and I only ride in the warmer months.
I'm everything most of you hate on here.
I can't believe nobody has passed comment on my earlier post. I'm everything most of you hate on here.
Forgot to mention I ride a bike that is apparently "better than any race bike I ever had" according to James Whitham.
I also probably only do 3000 miles a year.
Come one, tell me why I'm s

I came back to biking last year on a 675 and recently traded up to a fireblade. Im everything you seem to hate on here as I also have a scooter.
however - Ive been on ride outs with "experienced all season" riders who have overtaken on blind crests and almost been taken out by a motorhome as they overtook a car on a left hand bend. I've chosen not to ride out with them again as they're risking their lives as well as others and also putting me in a pociton where if I wantto keep up, I'll have to ride like a t
t which I refuse to do. Their view of themselevs is that as they ride "al the time" they have a god given right or something to be better than everyone else.
Its not about Born again bikers, harley riders, scooterists or whatever.
Its about t
ts.
they're everywhere

I had a weekend in the lake district with the mrs and kid in the car this weekend. I got held up by 3 seperate sets of bikers on the road to devils bridge. Literally held up by crazy slow bizzare riding. And i was in a 2.5ltr Automatic 3 series with a child in the back. Hardly a quick car and id never be reckless with my sprog in the back.
All the north yorkshire/dales roads attract some very bizzare riders. There are good riders out ther but also some dangerous clueless people.
Still to witness 2 crashes is bizzarely bad luck

The only map my cars will ever see is the one that my wife will be holding upside down on the wrong page whilst being 100% certain she knows where we are.![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
Although it would almost certainly transform it into a bonafied m3 slaying freight train...those 335d supercars are the things of dreams...
Although us "oldies" didn't have CBT, MOD 1, 2, or whatever other b
ks you have to do now with theory, hazard perception, scratching your balls in time with the tappets, whatever, and our test was a ride around the block, we'd generally done an "apprenticeship".
None of this direct access stuff either.
Most of us started riding at 16, where you did a year on an unrestricted, pedal assisted moped.
At 17 some of us (I was one) went to a 250cc machine, but by no means all of us, we were limited by money, a lot of people were on 100's, 125's 175's 185's 200's.
Most of us did at least a year riding those before we took our tests, I actually did two years, as I was an apprentice in the RAF, and I just had so much else to do, the bike was just so I could get about, and a bit of fun with the lads.
After your test it wasn't normal to go for the "superbikes" of the time, which were generally 900 - 1000cc, most of us went for 400's or like me a 500cc.
Then you'd step up to the big ones, an 850 le-mans in my case.
So by the time I bothered with the big stuff, I'd actually been riding for four or five years.
