I know this thread has regularly turned into a commentator bashing session but I do miss Jules.
Huewen should have gone!

I mean FFS he had to have Laverty POINT out to him, the glowing brake disc! Is he even watching the screen!

And as ever BTSports/Perrys addiction to Rossi persists!

Top 3 for me as of 10mins to go

Marquez
Dovi
Zarco

MotoGP have Simon Crafar in the pits, I think he's landed too often on his head and he's making a lot of errors and not even knowing who he's talking to sometimes.

This is setting up to be so good.

Nobody getting a break, so many different bikes and riding styles all doing the same lap times.

Excited.

Lovely bloke and skilled coach that he is, he is really not remotely suited to live commentary ....faltering and awkward , in fact beyond poor ... can’t be around for long ...

They don't give Dovi enough, give him half of Lorenzo's money.

Marquez has this championship in the bag if uninjured.

Showing his nose to Dovisioso at the last corner........"this is your track and is this all you've got?"

At this rate Jorge will be out on his ear, there is no way he can retain that contract for longer.

We need to see the rest of the year, but as of now it is clear Dovi is easily their best bet.

Not really Jorge's fault, but it's clear he is a Biaggi, Kocinski, Cadalora type as most riders are who only rely on front grip, if it ain't there then neither are they.

Quite how they ever got the Yamaha so consistent for him to do it is a feat of engineering in itself.

Good rides from quite a few, Rins was superb, Cal was too. Miller and Rabat looked good as did Abraham and Syahrin, two guys no-one would rate who beat far better

Daft rides from Zarco, someone really needs to sort out this soft tyre crap as it costs him ore races than it nails him.

Redding pathetic, someone needs to grab him by the balls, never used soft tyres in testing much, so you gamble in the race with them? Stupidity.

KTM look utterly at sea.

His 2 year contract ends at the end of this year. I think there will be a lot of moves, triggered by Lorenzo and Zarco.

Can't work out why Furygan didn't renew their contract with him. He must do more live product testing than the rest of their sponsored riders combined. Or maybe they wanting him to start paying for replacements.

Also apparently Ii was the bike's fault. Too many fault neutrals. Straight out of the Guy Martin book of excuses that one.

Shame that Redding made that choice. I was really hoping for him, but he just dropped away frown

Decent race, certainly better than I expected given its usually a bit of a dull track to start the season.

Marquez, definitely trying to make a point in the last corner even though he knew it wouldn’t stick. Good podium for Rossi. Zarco needs to sort his tyre choice out, as there are no prizes for leading the first 3/4 of the race then fading.

Hopefully, the last 1/3 of the race gives Viñales some confidence. Not seen what Lorenzo had to say, but his crash looked very weird.

Crutchlow staying upright showed his ability and decent from Petrucci and Pedrosa too.

Was a bit frustrated in the middle chunk of the race when everyone was just running the same pace and nothing really happening.

To be fair Dovi used a hell of a lot of the inside kerb to get back up the inside of him. I'll bet that's not a mistake Marquez makes a fourth time.

Clever riding from Dovi to be fair. Just fortunate that Marc left him enough room to go back up the inside of him.

It was a good season opener. I'd be surprised if Lorenzo is back on the Ducati next year, can't see him turning it round. Rossi did brilliantly to get to the front of the grid so quick and deserves the podium, I hope Yamaha can gain that little bit extra this year and be consistently at the front. Rins was doing really well and looked gutted but a promising start

I was surprised to hear Marquez being booed on the podium! Cracking ride from Dovisioso. All in all a good start to the season. Crafar was terrible.
