The early ones all had that. Later ones like BN's with the digital dash are way better mapped. But a PCV and a pipe sorts it out nicely.

I think that's where the flapper valve in the exhaust is ...
Exactly, that and the standard flappers in the Airtubes. Bin them off then enjoy no hole and loads more noise.

All the Fireblade loving is getting me back in the just keep it frame of mind with mine :-) I kind if think if I do sell it I'm not likely to ever go out and buy such a nice new bike again and that makes me just want to keep it as well. Must resolve to ride it more next year if I do though and park up the 600 for a bit.

You can see here:

A K5/6 GSX-R 1000 and a 08/09 Fireblade have similar torque curves but a later ZX10 or S1000RR would still be close to them under 10k...

Yip wink

And while you're there, definitely worth a -1 on the front or if you are feeling fruity, -1 and a 525 conversion. Makes quite a difference......

It is for me ... This bike is already a bad influence on me giving further cornering confidence!!

As for ECU re-adaption procedure seeing as misery guts was too lazy to give a decent reply! tongue out

Disconnect battery for 2-3hrs
Disconnect ECU for 2-3hrs
Reconnect
Start bike and let idle without touching throttle until fan cuts in ... 103 deg
Go for ride going through all revs a few times.

Job done.

Any recommendations for tank grips / protection on these bikes?

I'm scratching the tank to st with my knees ... Not to mention finding it hard to grip wearing textile trousers.

Most options look ugly or cover graphic scheme on tank!

Are you going to do the flapper mod? Be good to hear your thoughts on it.
