Yep, I think they were always going to race an open class Yamaha, Honda have open class Hondas and Yamaha wouldn't want to fall behind on data when it comes to 2016.
Difference is, Honda wound the motors down in true proddy style, and sell them, yamaha are basically just leasing 2 extra satellite bikes.Lincsblokey said:

The Hondas are 16mph slower
The Yamahas are 4mph slower
...running Open ECU, which allows Yamaha to have an input in the ECU's development until it is regulation.
There are only two classes, Open and Factory now. Ducati are going full factory with their own ECU and have all the benefits of Open until they start to get podiums and wins. Essentially Yam and Honda are in the same class, but the benefits are not available to them because they've won in the past year.
I think it's actually quite good for the sport/us viewers. I feel a bit sorry for the Honda customer teams - they need an upgrade quick!

Nope, thats changed again, even if ducati win this year they are not losing the tyres or engines, just fuel, david emmett (motomatters) was writing about it yesterdayThere are only two classes, Open and Factory now. Plunked for the Videopass at motogp.com, so all set. Do we know who their commentators will be this year? Gavin Emmett has gone to BT. Perhaps, Toby Moody alongside Nick Harris?
Toby is doing BSB & Motogp highlights packages and BTCC coverage for itv4, Nick is staying with the world feed, not sure who is alongside though lolLincsblokey said:

ill be there with the 50inch tele and the bt on in hd.
ive forgone a lot of football matches on the tele recently or should I say the other half has made me instead putting st like dance moms on and fking honey boo boo.
hoping Rossi is just up there with the pack, i dont care if he wins but just aslong as he has the pace and the front end he wants to last a whole race
