Not sure about the monster, quite a bit heavier than the 145kg dry I'm speaking of, but the Duke 390R is pretty bang on weight wise out of a 4 stroke engine, could just do with a bit more poke. The Duke 690R as you say is also pretty ideal although I'm referring to a fully faired supersport type offering.
I'd love to see someone like Aprilia (who badly need some mid field bikes) produce a 500cc spiritual successor to the RS250, same chassis virtually but in 4 stroke guise, which could be limited down to 43bhp or so to make it A2 compliant with an easy derestriction process for non limited riders to yield a nice 70bhp with a 160kg ish wet weight. KTM could do it too no doubt with their RC390 and give it the 690 engine since there is only 10kg between the Duke 390 and 690 dry although again it would be nice if they could take 10kg off the RC bike's weight.
