I’d been planning to go to this year’s NEC show, but realistically, I think it’s probably a bit too much, because anything over about 45 minutes in a car starts to get pretty uncomfortable and it’s a good 2-3 hours drive from me. It’s a shame, because I fancy having a look at some bikes, trying to find a bargain or two and just a general mooch/day out. I’m hoping to have a bike well before this time next year, so going to the show next year is a bit late.
I know there’s the (ExCel?) show in London early in the new year, but that’s even further by car and having been before (admittedly only once), it was a lot smaller than the NEC show with less stuff.
So anyone going, I hope you have a great time and manage to bag some bargains. Take loads of pictures and post them up for me! Pretty ladies in said photos are, of course, optional...

I saw on Facebook today that Nathan Millward will be at the show, opposite the Royal Enfield stand. I know Nathan occasionally posts in here, so I do hope I’ve not stolen his thunder. I also found out a mate is there on the CCM stand, with a “model” Spitfire (plane). I say “model”, it’s pretty much 1:1 scale.

Yeah I'm hoping not to crash on route as I did last year and have a small stand next to Royal Enfield. Every year I say 'never again' but I always end up going. For anyone curious, they charge £2000 for a 3x3 trade stand where you can't actually sell anything there and then, or £3300 for a 3x3 retail stand where you can take money. Obviously the price leaps up if you go for a bigger stand. They don't let you sublet either so it does put off a lot of the smaller traders sadly. You do get a parking spot for free though.
This year I'm just going with the tours I'm running next year and also a 'special edition' RE Himalayan that me and my supplying dealer have concocted as I've been running one all year and really liked it.
Looking forward to seeing the T7 Yamaha and the RE Interceptor in the flesh.
A sneaky day off on Tuesday for me, but going on my own. So, if you see some sad sack wandering round muttering to himself, like some taller fatter Gollum (similar hairdo), dribbling “my precious” over all the lovely shiny toys, while doing some strange mime dance fighting to keep his credit card in his wallet, that’ll be me

Yeah I knew it was expensive as a friend of mine was there every year with Accumen Alarms. Anyone been today? I’m going tomorrow, just wondered if anyone knew the time’s they start up some of the bikes? Last year they did the PBM MotoGP bike, the triumph moto2 and I think some Norton’s. The PBM GP bike was unreal up close

Went today and saw the new V4 rr Norton, what a lovely bike, was talking with Stuart Garner for a while and placed a deposit for one at the show.
That makes my prospective purchase of an NEC limp bacon bacon butty,(mortgage approval dependant,) pale in comparison! Congratulations hope it’s As good as it looks Gassing Station | Biker Banter | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
