Current goals for 2019:

Work out why the 85 GPZ600R tends to stop running once it's hot, thought it was electrical but now thinking it may be valve clearances. Then ride it on nice days.

Build the Ducati ST2, current thinking is a cafe style look as the standard fairings are fooked. At the moment it's spread all over the garage and the engine is on the bench for paint. The ride it. It could even become my commuter weapon I think.

Ideally I'd like to take the Triumph Explorer for a good run, something like the 4k miles around Scandinavia I did in 2016, but with a newish job and less spare cash I can't see it happening so I'll settle for some highland blasts when I can.

Sell my worthless, unreliable, expensive, hateful, pile of scrap and buy a bike that won't cost me an arm and leg every month.

Learn how to enjoy riding again instead of worrying what's about to break

Do some advanced riding courses the above bike has prevented me from doing

My main goal is not to fall off, apart from that I'm saving for a house so any new bike purchases are on hold, as are trackdays and other expenditure, I will try and put 5k on the MT09 if I can, I didn't do as many as I liked last year as people kept falling off and I lacked people to play with rolleyes

I'm having my first spawn in January so I'm just keen to get out on the bike for the odd hour here and there – I've decided I'm gonna hang onto the 1198 for the foreseeable. Ideally I'll get on a track at some point, and there's talk of going to the N24 with some car journo friends in a mix of vehicles. So far the other half seems willing but I guess that may change once the baby arrives…

1. Try pitbikes (already booked indoor training, have to book outdoor training as well)
2. Flash GSXR1000R and ride it more than 1000km/year as I have done this year
3. Sell Daytona 675 and decide whether to buy Speed Triple RS or not

The road riding will take care of itself as long as weather is good, but I am not sure whether I make it to a track in 2019.
If I do make it, it will be either Mugello with DRE again or 5 days in Almeria with my Honda service shop team, in which case I will take my CBR600F4i.

1. Fix the 1998 R1. Patch up all the leaks and fit the poncy suspension front & back.
2. Go out for more spontaneous rides = coast etc. 80k miles per year in company car does kill the enthusiasm however.
3. A few UK track days on 2005 R1 incl some Jim Whitham days and one or two Euros (Slovakia Ring maybe and something towards end of year).
4. Do a Mick Extance Off Road Experience day. My future has knobbly tyres I'm sure - pedals or an engine though?

Just bought a 1964 Honda CB92. Not ridden for years so, want to learn how to ride again. Local company do a "back to riding" course so may get that next spring. Bike is Immaculate so would hate to drop it!

1. Do as many trackdays as possible, I seem to have completly lost interest in road riding since I started doing them. Currently booked to go to jerez in march and aragon in may but will try and work out some other euros and uk days too.

2. Get some proper instruction and improve track skills. I've got some booked for jerez in march and looking at options for aragon. I'm also going to try and get to a few James whitham days.

3. Go to the Isle of Man tt for the first time (ferry is fully paid for and accommodation booked, I'll be there for the whole of race week).

4. Test ride some of the newer nakeds (675, 765, v2 tuono and possibly a z1000) with a view to purchasing one for the tt and general road riding to see if I enjoy it again.

So far ive booked alot of my goals I already for 2019, so hopefully starting on a good footing!

Get my little CustomBike off the bench and on the street,

this fekker is more german than chinese now, about 20% original.

This project went completely off the scale regarding labour hours, cost, and legality,

but Hey Ho, that´s the way a CustomBike is done, I guess.

Sat on the bench since July, thanks to work, on 340 overtime hrs by now.

To top it all off, I have to send the engine back to the coater because he messed up the first layer of ceramic black.

This time it will hopefully be done better, then return silky black ALL OVER,

which means I have to re-grind / file / sand the fins & edges so they are silver again.

Should look like this, but with proper weapon finish this time :

Use it more then I did this year.
I have week away booked end of June I Spain with a couple of mates on the bikes.
Do at least one track day as my lad is desperate to do one having passed his MOD 2 in October.

1) Big trip - possibly J'OG to LE?
2) Finish the fecking R1 and ride it
3) Ride at least 5000 miles as the last two years I've barely ridden and feel st for it
4) Ride the KTM more and possibly enter an enduro race.

If I just tick one of those off I wouldn't be hugely unhappy.

Here's to 2019 all thumbup

A few of us have booked(sometime back) accomodation for Normandy in June, its the 75th anniversary of D Day next year so im really looking forward to watching as many of the events I can fit in during our week over there, taking the bikes of course.

Other major bikey event will be a mancave going up in the garden, complete with bike ramp /work bench and all those sort of luxurys...
