Just noticed- on Y2's pics (sorry not bright enough to quote!) the bike in the background looks to have a Mike Hailwood paintjob on his helmet? Who is he and if he has got that paintjob- will he do it justice?

I did a lap yesterday morning just before this happened.

A BIKER from France has died following an accident at the 11th Milestone this morning.

The accident happened at 9.41am today, near to the 11th Milestone on the Ballacraine to Kirk Michael Road.

It involved a Yamaha bike and a Land-Rover vehicle.

The Yamaha, being ridden by a French male, was travelling with the TT course, towards Kirk Michael.

The Land-Rover vehicle, driven by a man from Lezayre, travelling towards Cronk-y-Voddy.

Both vehicles collided head on the right hand bend Cronk-y-Voddy side of the 11th Milestone corner.

The biker suffered fatal injuries.

The occupants of the Land-Rover were unhurt.

The road was closed for four hours while investigations into the accident were carried out.

A police spokesman asked for any witnesses who may have seen the accident or the vehicles travelling prior to the accident, to get in touch with police headquarters on 01624 631212.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

just watched ITV4's buildup to the TT

they had an absolutely cracking video of Guy Martin doing 2 laps at an average speed of about 129mph. 16 minutes of uninterrupted footage with great commentary biggrin
Best bit's gotta be Guy's commentary ".....I can't remember the name of this bend". He even made channel 5's news on Friday night (didn't understand a word he said!!!).

Good luck to Guy, he seems to be a normal bloke (like most roads racers) enjoying what he's good at.

I saw this too, fantastic footage, it did amuse me the way he did not know the names of corners, came across as a very down to earth bloke.
