Only a wee bike, but 2.4l per 100km that equates to 117 mpg..... woo hoo!!
as opposed to the Targa (in town 18l/100km)15mpg or on the road (14l/100km)
around 20mpg....or almost 30mpg when cruising with CC on the swiss slow motorways..

The 1098S does high twenties (mpg) as a rule but sometimes it's WAY less!

SV650, the most I have had was 65mpg.....doing 70mph up the A1....very boring.

SV650, the least I have had was 44mpg when riding hard alot.

CBR600RR, The most I have had was 130 to a tank which was about which was about 40mpg

CBR600RR, the worst I have had was 66 miles to the tank which worked out about 14mpg that was constant hard riding 0 - 160 constantly on off the throttle.

non-Vtec VFR800:
average 46-48mpg (dual C + daily commute into London).
Best was 64mpg on a cruise back from Cornwall.

About 58mpg on my TDM. 100 miles a day no a variety of A/B/Motorway and city riding.

Tank range of 200+ miles which is one of the main reasons for buying it. Nothing more annoying than having to fill/top up every day (I had a Pegaso and a DRZ400 that required this!)
The TDM looks like a rather useful bike to me.

Very. My 850 averaged 62mpg cruising at 90+ all day with luggage (not panniers though the extra drag is noticable on the fuel consumption), generally gets around 50 hooning it around the twisties, and can do 180 miles on a tank. The newer 900's have more power, a bigger tank and use less fuel. Take a look at www.carpe-tdm.net if you're interested

MPG is a mystery to me (I grew up in a land of the Metric system - and too old to re-learn!). I know 30 mpg is good (my daily hack car), and under 20 mpg is bad (my fun car).

But as for my bike, 1 litre gets me around 9-10 miles on average. So the bike needs to have fuel stuck in it around 160 miles (18l tank). Less if it is getting trashed, like in the Alps smile
gallon = 4.55 litres(approx)

30mpg= 6.5 miles per litre
20mpg =4.3 miles per litre

10 miles per litre = 45.5 mpg on bike

Yeah but presumably if you run out of fuel at 200mph you can coast a fair way laugh

Isn't it. I could however tell you to the decimal the calculated MPG of my car and scooter!

As the scooter is technically a bike... 71mpg!

44-45mpg normal mix of riding on gsx1400, normal commute is 10miles dual carriageway at 100leptons plus a couple mile of town each end. ive got 52mpg out of it once sticking to the limits & being gentle, doesnt happen often but i thought i'd see what happened - i got bored hehe

1977 T140v custom (750cc parallel twin), 50-60mpg even when pushed but then it kicks out an amazing stock 49bhp so it doesnt need much fuel for that. much more chuckable that my pregnant cow (speedtriple rider's description of gsx14).

Not a damn clue. Never even think about it, as per the two posts above.

When I need to know what it is, I'll shoot myself.
