My R1 carries;
- std toolkit÷ratche,
- allen key multitool,
- tyre plugs and gas cylinders,
- a length of thin hose for syphoning juice,
- tie wraps,jub clips,
- blade fuses and puller,
50k miles and everything has been used as a get you home measure.
Tie wraps were really usefull to make a temp (2kmile) gearlever on a dropped blade using a spoon off the brekie table!

I must be the antichrist of R1's then, as mine carries;
- 20 marlboro lights
- wallet with cash and AA card in
- phone
and fack all else
If we are talking about the Honda in your profile you probably won't need much.
make sure you use quality 2 stroke oil, carry a spare spark plug.
The worst thing that might happen in terms of a breakdown would be a flat tyre in which case you need a mobile telephone and a mate/AA man with a trailer.

I carry a few bits; fuses, small cable ties & disc lock, a slimline mobile would also fit (although normally have that in my pocket to stop it being cooked), however it's not very secure, things get very warm and even wet if it's raining.
Antichrist!
I seem to spend most of my time fixing zuki's, blades and asprilla's with my kit.
Can't think of having to touch the R1 on a trip!
I don't smoke and don't have a fat wallet so I guess the space under my seat is going to waste if I don't carry the tools.
Oh - I usually fit in a cable and disc lock!
