Have you taken a look at the K1300R? I love it because unlike the S1000RR and HP2 Sport which are civilised (yet quick) sportsbikes, this looks like it will kill you if you look at it the wrong way.
I had a go on one last year, and it was a surprisingly easy bike to ride. And it looks cool.

I'm probably going to end up getting one, though the new VFR is tempting.

And it's shaft driven.

That was the other bike I wanted to ride last night - but again it was fully booked by the time I got there. As I say - they have quite a stable of bikes now?!
The F800R is also worth a look. I had a sit on one (among a ton of other bikes, HP2,S1000RR, R1, 1198 etc) and it was the most comfortable bike I sat on. I'd love to try one and it looked fantastic in the Chris Pfeiffer/Motorsport colours (I'm pretty sure it's the same deal as the normal F800R but that's the one I sat on).

When I picked up my HP2 in March, they had one in that very colour scheme. I've got to admit that I really, really liked the look of it. That parallel twin is a really nice engine too (Rotax I believe), plenty of poke with a nice noise.

So have BMW got a great stable of bikes? Or is everyone (incl me) getting older? I am interested in lots of their bikes.

However BMW brand does not seem to equal pipe and slippers any more.
Had a look at the BMWs on the stand at Silverstone last weekend. Put my name down for a test-ride on the K1300S... I've never really been "into" BMW bikes, but there's something cool about the current line-up and I have a particular soft-spot for the K1300S.
