And my Hood dual layer jeans are too heavy (requiring braces) and too hot in the summer

This is not as Hood describe which is a shame.
I've had a pair of K7 infinity for a couple of years & yes they're a bit heavy, but I've worn them for 350 odd mile days in Spain at up to 32-33 Deg & found them ok

Knox jeans I wear all year round, no issues.
A little warm in traffic in this weather but not going to avoid that really sitting onto of an engine

The Covert are triple stitched through the thigh and seat of the jean. The seam down the leg is visibly double stitched but appears to have a hidden third stitch underneath.

They have been burst tested by MotoCAP and achieve a good score.

As a side note, more info here for anyone interested:

Classification AAA: The highest level, with the machine spinning at 707.4rpm (the velocity of the sample holder being equivalent to 120km/h) in Zone 1, at 442.1rpm (equivalent to about 75km/h) in Zone 2 and at 265.3rpm (equivalent to around 45km/h) in Zone 3.

Classification AA: More suited to touring gear, this specifies Zone 1 at 412.6rpm, 265.3rpm in Zone 2 and 147.4rpm (the equivalent of around 25kmh) in Zone 3.
I've had a pair of Bull-It Covert that came apart at the seam. They were returned for a refund. I replaced them with Hood's which do seem more substantial in every respect. I never find the jeans the problem in heat its the top half that is the problem when stopped.

Do you know which Knox’s you had? I had the Brighton single layer and they were torture devices.

Richmond I think they are.

I only have a "cheap" rst pair to compare them to though so don't take my word.

Plus with the jeans I value them looking good and looking like normal jeans over comfort. Because if I've got my jeans on I'm usually city riding to work or going to the pub or something.

Just had a pair of Richa Carter single layer jeans arrive from SBS. AA rated for protection. Level 2 CE armour. And more importantly, comfy! I'll probably swop out the hip armour for L2 Ghost.

As well made as Knox. Far better than Merlin.

Edit. Remembered I had some Rev’it Seesoft L1 hip and knee armour. Popped in the hip and it’s a perfect fit for the pocket. They now fit lovely. They fit like my Levi’s now which is exactly what I wanted.

That's a shame. I've had mine 2 years and fill them out but they're still in as new condition.

Same, my torso bakes but I'm usually alright on the bottom.

I’ve just replaced my Bull-it SR6 Atlantics with the RST Kevlar Tech Pros. The like for like fit(36W regular)is much better for me, the armour is much comfier and the Bull-its are noticeably warmer which isn’t what I want as I have other gear for cooler weather.
