Do you use an airbag? D-Air, Tech Air?
Discussion
Can anyone recommend a shop within reasonable distance of Reading to look at Alpinestars Tech Air suits? Just popped into the 'Sportsbikeshop' in Reading and they aren't carrying much stock at the moment.
In the past I've generally gone to Infinity in Farnborough which still looks the best option from a quick Google.

If you go to Infinity tell them you went because you saw they had it online for £513 last week.In the past I've generally gone to Infinity in Farnborough which still looks the best option from a quick Google.
Edit - you said 'suits'... as you were.

After teething problems with my Techair 5 (details a few pages back), I’m really getting on well with it. It’s very comfortable, the charge lasts forever and it does just make you feel a bit safer - rightly or wrongly. I never do an out of town run without it. Recommended
What do you use it with? I'm looking at the Missile Ignition 1 Piece suit. RST nice leather jacket with integrated Inmotion airbag seems a bit of a bargain at £335 in the sale. In a few years these could be mainstream

The Tech Air 5 will work with anything. The Missiles (the ones I've seen from 2018 at least) have the wire and the forearm LEDs for the first Tech Air. These bits are redundant and you'll have a bit more room in the chest.bogie said:

There's an additional fee to run the electronics though.https://www.motocentral.co.uk/rst-gt-airbag-ce-lea...

I say 'though'... not actually against it.

The Tech-Air Street and Race systems have more sensors than the Tech-Air 5. I gather the Race (which can be used in either Race or Street mode) can detect more crash scenarios than the 5. And there have been some cases of the Tech-Air 5 deploying incorrectly, while the Street and Race systems appear reliable.
Also, a Tech-Air-compatible jacket is precisely designed for the job. It's not straightforward to get a jacket that's snug enough (elbow protectors won't budge in a crash) while having enough room for the airbag to deploy. Crucially, Tech-Air-compatible jackets also have expansion panels to enable the airbag to inflate correctly, which means you can buy one with a comfortably snug fit.
And I like the airbag status lights on my arm: I know the battery life at a glance (without needing to open an app while riding!).

I need new leathers anyway so already intend to get latest fully compatible kit.

£10 a month forever...think I will skip it...needs to be built into the price for me. I guess its one way to make it appear cheap whilst covering their ongoing maintenance costs for the system
So if your subscription lapses do they turn your airbag off?If so, kerrching. Have yourself a minor off, and then threaten to take them to court. You'd make thousands in a settlement.
