Compromised as in changed his mind. he said he was quitting racing completely. He's compromised on that decision by agreeing to do Suzuka.
But you'll agree it's not a crime?

He didn't 'retire' and then five mins later appear back again. He's (mostly) stayed away and now, for whatever reason, decided he'd do one particular race. Hats off to him.
Aren't you both making the same point

The fact is now he's dipped his toe back in, the consideration of a comeback may not actually be so out of the question
It looks that way to me. I want Stoner back in MotoGP. I don't care if he whinges or bleats, or whatever. I want to see top racing like last weekend. Stoner will be an asset to the paddock.

So Rossi is riding at Goodwood day after assen, so is stoner.

They reckon that Ducati aren't worried by that.

would make this one of the strongest grids ever if he came back . i really hope he does ,but do not think he will. i think he said he would not be back in "that" paddock . hopefully a suzuka win might change his mind . i just wonder if suzuka is dipping a toe into riding a superbike, the wsbk paddock may be a nicer place to be.

He definitely won't come back to full time racing and do WSBK. MotoGP is where the money and kudos is. WSBK is a poor imitation of the series it once was, although it's improving this year a bit.

But 11 years on two full factory bikes with only 3 wins and 28 podiums is pretty poor, Repsol stuck with him for 4 years till he was gifted the title by Rossi and another 2 years after where he didn't win a race and then 5 years with Ducati with only 3 more podiums.
"Gifted the title by Rossi". fk me there are some blinkered people on here.
You could say that Hayden was "gifted" the title by Toni Elias at Estoril wink

Now that was a race and a half.

I'd love to see Stoner back, I definately don't think he was gifted the 2007 championship, he went out and spanked everyone, Rossi included

Rossis overnight tyres went awol in 2006, maybe dorna trying to improve the show. Elias won with an overnight michelin rejected by pedrosa, definately his 5 minutes of fame!.

Do you not think its quite a coincidence that assen is on sat and Rossi and stoner are flying to England for Goodwood festival of speed.

That's a hell of a flight from Australia just for Goodwood.

If Cal got Pedrosa's bike what livery would it be run under? Factory bike has Red Bull and Cal has Monster Energy?

Not sure if that's good news for Dani or not?

He spent all winter trying to sort his arm out so doubt he's found a miracle cure now, so is he just going to ride out the season with a shagged arm and really ruin it ?

Really rejected by Pedrosa?

Elias is famous for his bizarre tyre construction demands that were met pre 2006, but Pedrosa didn't have quite the same demands.....

Interesting; didn't know that.

Still one of the best 4T GP races I've ever seen, though.
