First day on a track. Went to the 3 Sisters in Wigan and only had 3 10 minute sessions. Was great fun despite being God awful at cornering. The track it's is a bit like a Mario Kart track, about 80mph max with a very brief 3rd gear change.

Shoddy photo sorry. In the first round there was about 4 125s that was obviously familiar with the track. They were rapid, think 1 even lapped me ha ha.

Trust me when I say that you’ll have a lot more fun on a proper track than that place. Unless you’re riding a 125 or less then it’s ridiculous. I went on there a couple of years ago and never again. I don’t think I got out of 1st and the surface was terrible.

It’d be ace in a go kart or on a 125 though.

Pretty sure Three Sisters is a kart track. If so no wonder it is no good for bikes.

Thanks. Yeah I'm only around the corner from Oulton Park, would love to try that one out but I just couldn't resist a quick track experience for a tenner a round.

It’s used for a lot of bike racing, albeit at smaller capacity, not long ago they used to run 1000s, they might still do.

I know it’s a kart track, hence why I said it would be ace on one

They still run big bikes there with the preston club, my mate raced there a couple of weeks back, it's been resurfaced too but yes, much better as a kart or supermoto track.

96mph on my old SV1000, then I bottled it! biggrin

It's not a bad little circuit really if you take it for what it is, it was in a st state when I last rode round it but I believe its been resurfaced now, I wouldn't do a full TD there but for a few 10 lap sessions its ok for a bit of fun and knee down pics.

Oven had more expensive trackdays. One I managed to get to the entry to the first real corner before cartwheeling my bike into the gravel and a £1500 fix

My Dad has his 310 dropped off this afternoon, despite the face, he really is pleased with it, daft sod fell down the stairs earlier in the morning so wasnt up to riding it but hopefully tomorrow..

Basic it may be Vs everything else modern but even the tech took a while to set the time on it!

I waited for my first ride out after passing my test for over 2 weeks just to make sure my first ride was with my Dad (He was ion the isle of man for the Manx). And I don't regret it at all. Look at that grin on my face!! I hope I never forget that feeling <3

Fair play to you both, I grew up with a garage full of my dads bikes and from the age of 6 until 16 he took me to every school boy trails competition going in the clubs I was in. At 16 I started working for him in the factory he owned and as we all no 16 years olds no best rolleyes That would of been back in 1986 I think,

Not had a great relation ship with my dad but I guess I've become more chilled as has he, he still has a couple of old bikes in the garage but he's not fit enough to ride now so will never get the opportunity you two have made happen. Don't feel sorry for the old sod though he still thinks every time I visit there is a job for me to do in his house frown

2000+ miles on a FS1E down route 66 should be a crack, John?!

I think that would be impossible for me, I have only done 1860.9 miles since I restored it back in 2010

Working for family is always frought with danger!

My dad and I have wanted bikes for years but never got it done. I'm hoping once I do it'll inspire him and we can have a ride together. I can see him buying an old guzzi or something.

That looked a fantastic day out, a friend who was there said the winner of the "best bike" of the day as voted by Parrish/Whitham etc won a go on the Sheene RG500.....what a prize that was!

If anyone is free and local, come and watch the nifty fifty endurance "event" this Saturday at Route 34 motopark near Winchester.

5 hours on an MX track with our (team of 3) steed above, a 1980 MT50 with a C90 engine fitted, all in the aid of raising money for charity!

Took delivery of my new (to me) chariot - an MV Brutale Corsa with full Ti system by Arrow for MV. It's been a while since I last had a IL4, but the noise and way this thing goes is quite special! Last of the old long stroke 1078cc motors by MV with radial valves. Should be good fun.
