Was that paying for 2 peoples flights/hotels?
Yes mate.

And she sure as hell wasn't opening her purse for a motorbike holiday.

A week in Thailand honestly worked out cheaper.

You do mean December?

How does that normally go? Just f-ing cold, but as long as it's dry it's ok?

Yup.

I did Brands once in February that got delayed by an hour so that they could send the ambulances and other service vehicles around the track to get rid of the frost

I dunno it's excellent in places.

The road from Chiang Mai to Pai is flipping lovely on a rental - 720 bends.

I think after Aragon in a couple of weeks the bike will be mothballed until next year.
Roughly, how much does aragon cost? and how much track time do you get?
You will get about 150 miles a day, so 450 over 3 days. Realistically, most don't mind skipping the odd session on day 2 or 3.

Aragon is about £600 to book but after the flights, airport brekkie, car hire, medical repatriation insurance, beer, a set of tyres, more beer, steak every night, fuel for the bike, beer, fuel for the hire car, duty free shopping etc then your up for about £1300 to £1500. Tyre use and cost is a big variable from person to person.

Due to the nature of how and when you have to pay for certain things it spreads the cost out over a fair few pay packets. I'm just about to pull my ex Mugello slicks off my spare R1 wheels and put them on the GSXR trackie bike for Aragon so effectively I paid for them a year ago.
Don't forget the extra for booking an extra night at the hotel so you can have more beer and talk more bks
Booked! It is a bit too hectic finishing on track at 5pm on the final day and then making a mad dash for the airport still creased up and dripping in sweat.

That was the only thing I thought was a bit rich from No Limits = £41 per person, i.e. £82 (€115) per room. It was way cheaper direct with the hotel on booking.com but I was too tired to argue.
Last year was brill in the novice group on the last session , just me and one other guy went out in Aragon it was great :-)
Even the cat that trotted over the track look at me to say - have you lot not naffed off yet

Bored to tears with all the other nonsense going on elsewhere ....
Quick reminder : Donington, Wednesday 26th road bike day- who's all there , and if you would like to gather as a friendly little group ( which is what we actually always really do ...) , or not , no matter , however , whoever chooses to post up a Garage number earliest , please do so , or I /we shall....
So far, I know of : me, Loon, ( he really doesn't bite - I knocked all his teeth out ...) , Mr OCD, Soofsayer, ....Olly22 ? Can't remember - anyway , always good to say hello -peace- love- goodbye, etc. smile

Great Tom - yes, first come first served , haven't bothered trying to Reserve one for this , as weren't sure many from here would be on it , but it will be less of a scrum than usual, without the full on racetrucks, spare bikes , spare mechanics etc etc of the average normal day now , as it is pure road going only, so no faff for plug sockets , warmers , space etc ...
Will be good to see you - there is tons of space at Doni but we shall aim nearest Start/Finish as usual ( nearest tea and coffee in NL garage andcafe etc ) post up in morning , cheers Scott , see you later when you're down - thumbup

Awesome will try head there early to bag ourselves one, hopefully near you guys!

I'll try let the guys know to all head for a particular garage in the morning, what time are you folk expecting to be there?

Getting excited now, just need to re-learn the bike again (I've rebuilt half of it and only rode it for the first time yesterday evening)

What group you in Tom?

I've no idea what time we'll be down there, but given it is a road bike only day and stacks of room I can't see there being a rush?

First time at Donny for me. smile

I'm in the middle group, Nov/Int with all my friends. What are you in?

Aye was hoping it wouldn't be a mad rush but would rather definitely get a garage.

First time there for me too and only 3rd ever day!

Hope it's not like yesterday at Brands with MSV. Pissing wet and 2 guys went out on full racing wets!?!?! Road legal tyres my arse. Needless to say the one in my group was the only one to pass me. I don't know if he was talked to or not, apparently they said someone had a word with him.
