Same. Currently listening to the “unique” sounds of Manx radio TT with a bacon and egg roll.

Wish all a safe and fun TT.

Me too. Have not been for years and my dad lives about 2 mins walk from the grandstand!
He always leaves and goes on holiday when the TT is on as he does not like the noise and crowds.

Chuffed for Dom Herbertson getting a good ride with Burrows/RK and getting 3rd in stock doing 127+ in first practice last night.

Ben Birchall must be quietly (or maybe not) very chuffed with their lap times as its quite a switch up for him not having Tom in the chair. Todd Ellis + Emmanuelle Clement had some evening too! 109+ on their second ever lap is shifting some.

I have a stupid question.

How is the panigale at 955cc allowed to compete in supersport ? Is this purely a gimme to Ducati?

Its the new Supersport Evo rules, I'm not sure if the TT uses the exact same rules as BSB/WSB etc but they are constantly reviewed to ensure theyre all balanced properly.

Especially in British Supersport I think the balancing works really well, and it means you get the Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Triumph (765), Suzuki (750) and Ducati all racing competitively.

Already answered in the post above mine, but just to add the reason it's going this way is some manufacturers are moving away from producing 600cc Supersport bikes, so the class would have died otherwise.

Put simply, you can make about 150 bhp, it's just how you do it. There's an argument that it's cheaper racing a Panogale V2 than getting an R6 rebuilt repeatedly - and in Supersport EVO at WSBK level Ducati didn't win a race last year.

I suspect as more manufacturers drop litre sportsbikes we'll see more 750 fours potentially.

Kevin Has been in the chair a few times with him. So he will just be driving and not worried about Kevin.
Todd and Mannu are current world and British champions. Todd's been going to TT since he was about 10 with his step dad Gary Bryan. So knows his way round and their bike prep is exemplary.

I've managed to get some last minute accommodation in Castletown for next week. Haven't been over since I was about 8yo!

If I can sort out the timings to make the trip, I'll be arriving Monday, leaving Thursday so will have full days for Tue/Wed racing.

Any thoughts/tips on where to head to for viewing? I'll be on my own and on foot so using public transport.

I’ve just watched the daily round up on Youtube and the filming, production, music etc is very slick.

If the weather is good,it’s going to be one of the most memorable TT’s.

Where did you see the daily roundup please?

Edit: ignore that. Talk about asking a stupid question lol.
Found it.

Ducati won the WSSP championship and 17 out of the 24 races last year. In 2022 they had no wins but Bulega still managed 4th in the champsionship.

A supersport spec V2 costs around £60k to build, and a really good one like Todd's or Ben Curries in BSS are around 80-90k
They don't go through motors, as they're not stressed, so that side is cheaper, but still way more expensive than an R6, even with continual refreshes

For reference, Bulega cleaned up in World Supersport last year on his, winning the majority of races

The highlights on tv aren’t great just been looking and they are on itv4 sometimes nearly 24 after the event

I think the IOM itv4 highlights are fine, but you'll need to avoid results because some are shown as late as 2 days later on the days no races are planned (weather permitting wink )

This year on Fri 31st they have a qualifying highlights programme, not sure they've done that before? Increasing coverage. smile

Anyone else using the TT plus app this year?

I was sure that you could have it running on 3 or 4 seperate devices last year?

I can only log in on 1 device at a time this year?
