Went out for an overdue but short ride on the R this evening. She's just so angry and vicious, wants to lift at every moment, and her twin Termis just rip like a chainsaw through the air... who needs drugs, just get out and ride.

I bet the Ducati is pretty quick as well.
smile but not as quick chasing GSes through London

Still need to teach the Poles who work there how to make a Coke (Pepsi because the Ace work with Schweppes) Float _every_ time. They always look at me strange...

The Ace is as posh as Blackpool rock. The Duke is a sexy beast for sure. Just roasts your nuts and inner thigh at anything less than warp speed though.

It seems to have the weedy exhaust on it though. I thought that the 1098R came with the big 70mm system as std or at the very least in a box with the bike ?

No. The 1098R comes as standard with the titanium system, but it includes the carbon cans and DP ECU as a standard extra. 70mm full system is an extra that does not come with the 1098R as standard.

Looks awesome Ade.

Couldn't turn this into a dedicated track bike in the end - partly due to condition, partly as I cannot commit to the time for a season of track days next year. It'll get used road and track next year. New rubber, new front brake master cyclinder, full service and all fluids, suspension set, crash protection added, new MoT and tax and she's now road legal! Serious bit of kit, the 04 R1. Light years ahead of a 94 bike, but surprising close to a 2014 bike. Replaced the nasty solid black screen in the pic for a tinted double bubble today too.

What wheels are these? I'm going to buy them and put them on every bike I ever own!

No joke.

Forged Marchesinis. Great wheels, although have been tempted by the carbon BSTs on more than one occasion.

The gold looks just right though Ade. For road use there's so little difference it's not worth it.
How's she going after the work?? Did you get her on the dyno? More interesting, has she been on some scales??
