I used to drag race mine at Felton back in the 70s and there was a guy wth a H2 from Newcastle who wore a duffel coat and open face helmet.
True story.
My Dad used to take me there from the age of 5 years old, I was probably there when you were.True story.
I think it was the first or last sunday of the month.
Safety was very relaxed.

Boy, they don't make bikes like these anymore! Took her out for her maiden run to make sure everything was tickety boo. Such a soft but mighty twin. She feels hewn from granite and has this lovely mellow rumble that crescendos to rolling thunder, where you feel the pistons thumping like a giant heartbeat. Her chassis rolls with a firm touch, and her front end reads the tarmac as Braille to your fingertips. Past 6k rpm and she breathes deep and lunges to her red line, like a giant organic rubberband. She isn't raw and angry like my Ducati - instead she feels like a grande dame who knows the moves. Her name is 'Maggie'
That is a thing of beauty...My friend will never part with his SP1, they certainly seem to get under your skin...KR1 was delivered this afternoon..it was running lumpy when I viewed it and I thought it was the plugs as the owner started it every few months but never rode it anywhere..
A quick change of the heavily fouled plugs (check out how clean that engine/fairing is !! ) and she fired up on 2 with no bother, I did around 15 miles on it, its stumbling a bit top end , which is most likely carbs and/or kips valve adjustment.
I swear its no heavier than my GFs YBR125.
It turns beautifully and the gearbox, brakes are perfect..whilst out on the test ride I hit a pigeon at 80ish MPH, thankfully it struck the headlight square on so no damage done, I hope the fker has a headache for weeks...

Looks fantastic Bryan - The two stroke love affair continues. Shame the Yammagamma went as that looked like a properly fun project too.
That it does Pete, if I had the room, I would keep them all...and I managed to sell the YG for more , seized, than I bought it for as a running motorcycle ...cant look back too much.Yazza54 said:
Did you see much action?
I went last year and it was like watching paint dry. Was quite excited for it too, left early in the end..!
Yeah I was in the Brooklands Suite on the 4th Floor. View was brilliant. Had the view of the wellington straight and the luffield complex. Saw Will Stevens Crash.I went last year and it was like watching paint dry. Was quite excited for it too, left early in the end..!
All food and drink laid on and not a queue for a toilet in sight.

Much quicker than the LC Bryan? A quick change of the heavily fouled plugs (check out how clean that engine/fairing is !! ) and she fired up on 2 with no bother, I did around 15 miles on it, its stumbling a bit top end , which is most likely carbs and/or kips valve adjustment.

Much quicker than the LC Bryan?
It should be mate, im taking it fairly steady as its been sat for over a year, the engine has clearly been rebuilt since it was restored, as its done 4 miles since combined with the KR1s sketchy reputation, ill give it a couple of hundred miles before fully trying it out, I think a carb fettle/rebuild will be in order anyway.A quick change of the heavily fouled plugs (check out how clean that engine/fairing is !! ) and she fired up on 2 with no bother, I did around 15 miles on it, its stumbling a bit top end , which is most likely carbs and/or kips valve adjustment.

Much quicker than the LC Bryan?
I had one briefly in 1989 and I remember it reached 130MPH , so Yes, should be miles quicker than the LC....
The handling is certainly in another league & sat on it you feel your knees are touching together, a quick check give the dry weight as 120 kilos, once I get some aftermarket expansions on it, that will reduce that some more.
I bet you cant wait to get the Mito on the road now?
