Is it though? I mean, it's impressive don't get me wrong, but I feel like it should be able to make considerably more power than that. I know I could rotrex or turbo a zx10 and add more than 30-40hp for instance, but I suppose it wouldn't be as drivable or reliable hehe

I'm not suggesting for one minute 230 odd hp isn't enough in a bike by the way, I'm talking general engine tech here.
That is a fair comment mate.

You can get a Busa up to 800bhp and whack a turbo on most things, im sure the TTS Busa would smash it BUT I think the thing is with the H2, the gains are easy to have.

The remap cost £390…many people dont fit an aftermarket exhaust and still get similar gains.

Fitting the exhaust opens up the pathway to more mods/power but ill stick where I am.

From all ive seen and heard, the engine is strong and their is no more than normal servicing required.

the Kawasaki dealer faciliated the work so I have their back up as well…

So yeh, 265bhp(crank) isnt a stonking headline figure but it should be an “everyday” useable bike with no dramas to it, no extra servicing requirements and still running on pump fuel.

Dyno predicts 0-180 in 12ish seconds and way past 210MPH, ill see you on your Turbo soon?biglaugh
hehe I'm dangerous on a bike with half that power mate

Had some work completed on the H2 the last couple of days, wanting to expierence some of the (relatively) easy access to the additional power they can make alongside eliminating the horrid , tiring snatchy throttle.

Chose a brushed finish Vandemon full system, which along with junking the emissions gubbins gave a worthwhile 12.5kg weight reduction. I love the look of the downpipes which have already blued up nicely.

Standard it made 210bhp at the tyre with 98 ft lb torque, now its at 237 at the wheel( around 265 crank) , nearly 110 ft lb torque.

Large gains everywhere in the rev range…its making 125RWHP at just 4,000rpm now!

Cant wait to get out on it…

Think ill get away with leaving this out permantly.

One of the few bikes I lust after.

Looks and sounds like you are getting yours dialled in to how you want it.

Roll on that 1st warm spring day when you can get out and give it hell.

Getting there mate, id like a dump valve ( I know,
i know….old enough to know better but they sound so good on the H2) and thats about it.

Bound to get snow now 😁

Glad you mentioned that, went cross eyed looking at the torque/power curves , it isnt at 4,000 , its nearer 7 but
as you say, 150 is enough, my R only makes that but across country, point to point, id be far brisker on the BMW.

That's some serious low down power and big bhp up top

Formerly toxicnerve was saying about it on our group chat. Be good to get out see how that pulls Vs regular bikes like my Tuono

Getting my old Maico ready for the weekend I come across this

She's obviously got kinky on me and become a bit of a squirter...

Not enough time to fix before Sunday so I'll ride it keep an eye and fix next week

It took about 80-100ml of oil to get it back at top of measuring eye

That it would…would need a long-ish road as I think the extra shove would really show past 140 I think.

I know a place we could go….biglaugh

Wanted some shorter levers, and opted for a pair of folding adjustable Raximo levers from Germany, quality is spot on, good tight fit with no slop, retains the oe ratio adjuster too. And still cheaper than the stupidly priced KTM powerparts option.

And dragged the bike out for a clean and check over before using again.

Hmmmm.... I've been wondering about one of those. Any particular things you didn't like??

Positives:
It sounded great with V&H pipes, not too loud, but fruity.

Comfy enough for my 5'10" but you wouldn't want to be much taller

Suspension and brakes more than up to the job (previous owner had upgraded forks with Ohlins bits)

Nice torquey mid range made for lazy riding if you wished to cruise about

Negatives:
Not particularly exciting in the power delivery front, I guess its a long time since ive ridden a parallel twin ...I had forgotten what they are like smile

Tank range only suited to short(ish) blats. About 90 miles before the light came on, probably 130 mile range if you were cruising steady.

Seemed quite slow steering, even when compared to my 300kg Triumph Trophy tourer. I thought I would be chucking it about more like a naked in comparison.

I dont think its a bad bike, its reputably one of the best modern retro bikes, it just wasnt how I imagined it to be.

Got mine out ready for MOT this week.

I cleaned the wheels after these pics as the 2 stroke sponge had covered the rear rim when I warmed it up.

Was put away dirty end of last season as my riding was cut short. Wheeled her out for a clean and a quick once over as the weather is starting to pick up. Will get the Supercorsas taken off and some Rosso IV put on for now, keep the SCs for when it's warmer.

Honestly, could look at it all day just sitting there. cloud9
