A picture a day... biker banter (Vol 6)

Positives:
It sounded great with V&H pipes, not too loud, but fruity.
Comfy enough for my 5'10" but you wouldn't want to be much taller
Suspension and brakes more than up to the job (previous owner had upgraded forks with Ohlins bits)
Nice torquey mid range made for lazy riding if you wished to cruise about
Negatives:
Not particularly exciting in the power delivery front, I guess its a long time since ive ridden a parallel twin ...I had forgotten what they are like
Tank range only suited to short(ish) blats. About 90 miles before the light came on, probably 130 mile range if you were cruising steady.
Seemed quite slow steering, even when compared to my 300kg Triumph Trophy tourer. I thought I would be chucking it about more like a naked in comparison.
I dont think its a bad bike, its reputably one of the best modern retro bikes, it just wasnt how I imagined it to be.

If Carlsberg did weekends….….i take it your leg feels up to full fitness now?
Hmm it's ok. Won't ever be how it was, lots of scaring and slightly restricted movement but it's ok to ride. Just stings if I hit jumps hard so taking it easy as I get myself back into itThats a great shot.
The picture summarising my biking weekend. All my gear on, Panigale rolled out the garage for the first time in a few months, lovely mild day for a ride.
I delayed and delayed buying a trickle charger to connect to the SAE connection already wired in to the battery, and must have forgotten completely over winter. Battery is totally flat, no life in on the display at all. I suspect the alarm and tracker sucks a good amount of charge.
Bought one of these over the weekend, so will leave it connected and attempt to decipher the lights on the charger. Hopefully the battery isn't completely dead.

Went arenacross Saturday. Great show really good atmosphere
Swerved the London bike show despite getting free tickets and glad I did. Every person I know who went said it was too small, did the whole thing in an hour and was about £25-30 to park

Definitely getting out on the Aprilia next weekend long as they don't grit. All the showers have nicely washed the salt away. Can't be dealing with riding and your tyres look like chalk
Looks like you were sitting quite close to us at the Arenacross! Was a great night but annoyingly we had to leave half way through the final otherwise we would have missed the last train Swerved the London bike show despite getting free tickets and glad I did. We went to the MCN show before as well, and agree it wasn't really worth the money and will give it a miss next year
Embarrassingly I have to admit it's been two years since my LC crapped itself over my garage floor, piece of crankcase exited stage right when I started it, due to stripped side case threads.
Had it welded pretty quickly, but it's sat on the bench since, and I've not been bothered with it , like my other bike to ride more, and every time I go to the garage, there's something else I find to do.
But today was the day.... Drill and tap kit in hand, helicoiled all the side case threads, and threw the engine back in , just carbs to check and ensure clean before fitting, and hopefully smokin soon.

Lockup clutch a bit unnecessary, just for the bling?

Just get a new battery and keep that on the charger. I've found with my Tuono that big twins hate any kind of battery that isn't 100% healthy which yours wont be anymore and they are nigh on impossible to bump start if the battery isn't up to spinning it over...I delayed and delayed buying a trickle charger to connect to the SAE connection already wired in to the battery, and must have forgotten completely over winter. Good to see the LC again, I thought you may have been enjoying that KTM a bit to much and parked her up…?Had it welded pretty quickly, but it's sat on the bench since, and I've not been bothered with it , like my other bike to ride more, and every time I go to the garage, there's something else I find to do.

Just couldn't be bothered fixing it, but really enjoyed it yesterday, so hopefully found a bit more enthusiasm for the old girl.

Could not recommend these enough. Fit and forget. I have them on all my bikes, never had an issue.
