A picture a day....biker banter (Vol 3)

So I'm no cruiser fan, but the New Indian Scout revealed yesterday looks rather nifty. And it's only 253kg dripping wet which in big cruiser terms is pretty light!

And Roland Sands is unveiling a custom Cheiftan at Sturgis today which should be so something special...

after being off the road for the last 4 months, I have got my R1 back on the road
I made a few changes like removing the Variobars, fitting adjustable levers, refitting the standard cans (I gutted the internals and made my own), tail tidy and resprayed tail unit. Got her through an MOT and had my 1st proper run on Friday night. We rode from Inverness to Fort Augustus
the power is incredible, it was a bit of a challenging run
I've been down that road a few times and know it reasonably well but on the R1 it felt completely different in a good way
the changes in bike styling is quite something to, the FZR is a 94, the GSXR is a 03 and the R1 is an 06.

Wasn't this the R1 with race cans fitted upside down?I made a few changes like removing the Variobars, fitting adjustable levers, refitting the standard cans (I gutted the internals and made my own), tail tidy and resprayed tail unit. Yes they were a pair of blue flames, the was a small dent one one of them so the previous owner turned them upside down to hide it.Looking good now.
I hated those cans and they were stupid loud. I found a guide for fitting aftermarket baffles in the standard cans but I wasn't paying £80 + shipping for the kit (US company) so I ordered some perforated tube and 1mx1m baffle material for half of that price and made my own and fitted a decat link pipe.
The bike sounds far better now a bit more low down rumble and the note changes dramatically when the EXUP valve opens, and it's far quieter coming in at 101DB @ 5500rpm
