No he's correct for PCP too. I'm not sure about residuals however. The only other potential issue is that you must have documented evidence that every piece of work was as per Honda's requirements, parts used, down to documented grade of oil etc. to guarantee warranty claims would be honoured. I'm not sure how difficult Honda would make it for you however.

£200 for service there if you havent bought from them

£140 at JB Bury
£100 at JB Cambridge which is about right - £50 on parts/£50 labour. I was informed you can wait as it will only take around an hour!

Would this make a good starter bike? And could it be restricted?

I am aged 25 so believe if I passed my test I could only drive at a certain level of power? I used to ride an RS125 when I was 17 and fancy getting back into biking as I can't afford a fun car at the moment as I am saving to buy a house.

This is only £25 a month more than my mobile phone and seems so cheap I can't really see a downside. Looking online the test etc. can be done for around £600 with all of the lessons which again seems reasonable.

Thanks

If your 25 and pass the Direct Access (CAT A) you can ride whatever you want. Insurance on a Fireblade or Hayabusa or some such might be expensive though.

Sorry I didn't realise that...

I would still look at getting something fairly sensible as my RS125 was around 28hp (it wasn't restricted) and I don't want to jump onto a sports 600 or 1000cc as being honest I will end up having an accident.

This seems a sensible starter bike and as mentioned is incredibly cheap! I just wondered what the general consensus was i.e. was it any good or not? I just fancy something to potter around on a nice mild evening or weekend being honest to relieve some stress after work.

I went from a 125 scooter to a CBR600, was mucho fun. Throttle works both ways :-)

I was considering the CB650F which has 90hp. It is the £75 a month thing with £0 deposit which attracts me being honest as that is basically nothing and I piss more away on a few beers...

I would imagine coming from a 125 this would still seem bloody fast?

Did my DAS on a CB650F. Great bike, very easy to ride. My SV650S feels way faster and keeps me on my toes (although I know it isn't as quick)

The cb650 is a great looking bike, I love the headers.
Not massively fast but plenty to learn/play with without getting in too much trouble.

Alot of people said their a bit dull, but that's mostly from people who own litre bikes so it without question.

On that deal id have one if I didn't have my street triple

I had a word with JB at the weekend as they didn't check the tyre pressures on my bike. I did look a bit flat when i picked it up but assumed it was the profile of the tyre. It had 19psi in it! The bike seems to handle a lot better now it has air in it!

Im not an adventure bike fan; my ride is a 2007 CB13 purchased last April and have been chuffed with it.

However, I've genuinely enjoyed reading the thread and seeing so many people get a good deal. i also have to applaud you buying Honda, which will go around the world, as opposed to sticking stacks of cash into a pretend-around-the-world-bmw-gs- abhorration-all-mouth-and-no-trousers-alleged-motorcyclesmile)

safe riding!

ps: honda service costs won't cripple anyone either - bmw service costs make their car services look cheap.

The range to empty is displayed automatically when the fuel light comes on, you can choose from gallons left and miles to empty. I think it's 0.7 gallons, so that gives you 50 odd miles.

Can't say I'm bothered, I know I have 200 miles (ish), it means I have to reset the trip computer when I fill up but that's what I've always done!

Can someone tell me how to get the avg comsumption to show in mpg rather than litres per mile (or something similar), please?

Every time i get on, i remember i meant to look up how to do it in the manual, which is back in the house. Every time i get off i forget to check!

I've pressed and held every damn button going while riding along and not stumbled across it yet. Currently not at home so can't check even though i've remembered!
