Well I’m in austria wink

Good luck with the search whatever you decide on anyway! Always fun choosing a new bike and more so when it’s the first!
Haha ok you win. I’m very excited but think I may be best to wait before I buy a bike as my test isn’t until the 6th September which was the next available date.

Off to see this today still think it might be better to wait but this is available for £1100 with a 12 month MOT. The Ebay listening has finished but you can still view the original item

It's not for sale anymore. Did the OP buy it?
The ebay auction had already ended I've sort of bought it for £1100 subject to a inspection by my cousin (who I forgot was into bikes) and the owner putting a 12 month MOT on it. The bike seemed pretty original which is what I wanted, it's been dropped at some point with a scuff on the faring and the exhaust, very little service history but started first time from cold (not moved for over 2 weeks according to the owner). It looked pretty good to me and the guy seemed very genuine.

I need to do a hpi check too then hopefully the current owner is dropping it off at my address next weekend with 12 months MOT. Insurance 3rd party fire and theft is £220 with breakdown cover which is a bargain.

That's awesome, congrats dude! Keep us posted.

The CBR600 is a bike a rider could potentially never outgrow. They're brilliant machines.
Thanks mate going back through with my cousin after work tomorrow so hopefully it'll be mine by the weekend. I'm like a kid a Christmas I can't believe how good it still looks at 19 years old.

Sounds great mate I’ll take you up on that for sure but my test isn’t until 6th September. After that for sure where are you?

Brilliant OP, very excited for you.
There was a lot of talk earlier in the thread about how docile they are in the first half of the rev range, and that’s true. But work up gradually to those higher revs, things start to happen very quickly up there so make sure you’re prepared for that.
I’ll be very slowly working my way up get up to 62kmph on my mod 1 seemed fast to me ha

I though it was all going so well. Run a hpi check on the back tonight and it was cat c wrote of in 04. Gutted but not as annoyed as I would have been if I’d bought it and found out later. The search continues

I got pretty lucky tbh, was taken down the kibblesworth test route which was very easy. I’m a bit of a stress head under test conditions but looking back it was pretty straight forward. Mod1 is arguably harder.
I've no idea what the test routes are yet I've heard TGI Fridays roundabout is the dreaded route. What did you fail your first Mod 1 for?

Put my foot down on the u-turn. I don’t think the test routes are completely fixed and to be honest, you can end up over analysing stuff if you aren’t careful, probably best to just go with the flow. Test conditions make me nervous and that’s when I make mistakes!
Easy done mate I thought I'd failed to be fair at the end of it. Yea I think I will I sort of know the area drive to the metro centre loads of times.

So I failed my Mod 2 on Friday stupid mistake really something I'd do every day in the car.

Needed to move from the right-hand lane to the left. Traffic in the right-hand lane was moving at about 30 mph and I was doing the same in a 50mph zone just after a roundabout. I checked my should and mirror etc signalled and noticed the car behind me. Rather than waiting, I decided to speed up to 50mph or thereabouts check mirrors and shoulder again and it was clear. Or so I thought! 1 major fault for that and no minors a little gutted but these things happen. Just need to wait 10 days for a resit now.

One silver cloud I guess the bikes should be falling in price due to the end of the season when I do come to pass
