I can't wait to have a go on our demo now smile I've never heard the full HP road system before.

As soon as we get confirmed prices I'll let you know. Should be first week of October (or so we've been told).
brrrrrrr it'll be too cold for me by then fella biggrin

Enjoy.
Yep, we were putting 600 miles on our new 12 model in february this year. I think the most anyone did in one hit was 80 miles.

I rode the S1000 a couple of months back and didn't really know what to make of it. So much so, that when i took it back to the dealership after the test drive I got off it and proclaimed that I really didn't like it. And looking back, i'm not 100% sure that's true. Do you know what it was? I didn't feel like i was riding a sports bike. There was no danger, no bad manners, no shuffling, no wobbles or hint of excitement at all. It was so excellent at everything that it was utterly dull.

At the time i was do 160 miles a day on a CBR600 F Sport (2002) Now I do the same on a Tuono.... Taking that into account, i'd probably give it another go but it just didn't give me the same buzz as riding the 2011/12 R1. That's possibly the best sports bike i have ever ridden.

This sounds really good but is it worth the extra over the normal version for most people?.
I'm really considering getting a 2 year old S1000RR now their dropping down to reasonable money second hand.

One thing I would like to hear about from owners is what the traction control feels like when riding and how it changes your style, can you be much more agressive on the throttle out of corners etc?.

I would have thought the main reason for traction control is getting power on earlier out of corners. A proverbial comfort blanket.

In reference to akkys 1199, Austin racing have gone on record as saying the bikes with the standard exhaust system throw out more than those with the full termi system. I believe they are in final throws of thier exhaust for the bike & looking to launch at show in November. In sure they have said 180 at rear wheel is where they are expecting it to be (for the full system at around 3-4k).

Want a pipe for the Pani??
This the real MccCoy, Termi full race pipe. These pics don't do justice to how huge the primaries are!!

I can't wait for this bike - you see for those without the required readies, a glut of 2010 trade ins hitting the market may bring happy days for the poor; and never forget, for us traction control has related to how knackered the tyre has been so anything will be amazing!! :-))

Akys Paingale made 177 at the back wheel at Austin racing and 182 after a bit of fetling.

They said 177 was quite good from what they've seen, that wasn't standard BTW.

Have I said his BMW makes 203 at the back wheel?

So was the 177 with or without their pipe?

Standard headers, race end cans, power commander type thing fitted and the Ducati chip removed that had just been fitted.

The big headers have been thrown in the bin I think, he was showing me the dyno sheet at work today but I forgot to bring it home, the AFR looks nearly perfect.

Not bad!!

We're getting a bit more out of Chris's national bike, the one with the huge headers pictured above, However, it has the Ducati corse ECU which we can reflash and we're running lambda probes in each header linked to a logger to determine the exact fuelling through the rpm range. As this is a full race bike, low end isn't so important, but it's still quite a bit down on the beemers and zx10's! There's also a few extra little goodies inside th motor but nothing major. Rear cylinder is run slightly richer as it gets hotter but in all honesty, without a serious bottom end to allow more rpm, i think that's about it for this motor.

Deposit paid for mine.

Feels a bit weird sticking £500 down on a bike that the dealer doesn't really know anything about other than there's likely to be no more than 100 for the UK market. Predicted date is December for these now and the "carbon" version is still a bit vague. Price was suggested around £17,000, but no idea if that's for the standard HP4 or the bling version.

I would do the same, but the mrs would moan about the lack of a seat for her.... as she insists on coming out and spoiling my fun quite a lot these days ! my 2012 works remarkably well two up actually - probably because I havent fiddled the suspension yet and it is back breakingly firm. I even managed to ride round the outside of somebody the otherday - he was a bit wobbly tho so not much of an acheivement.

Ohh! We'll have to go for a burn together when the dealers give birth. Double Bloody Hp4!
